Player trades you can possibly target with the 18th pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lolo205</b></div><div>Wild arent trying to trade Rossi for a Pick</div></div>
You can say that again.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SensFan40</b></div><div>18 is below the drop off in this draft, it's not a very valuable pick. For the Sens it would take 18 + for either Chychrun and Norris; let alone both.</div></div>
I think that he means either, like he does with the Winnipeg pair. On the other hand, since Buchinger isn't worth Kyrou's skates, I can't be sure.

Russo was very specific in saying it would have to be a legit one for one hockey trade with elite talent coming back for Rossi. He also isn't in favor himself of trading Rossi . Rossi isn't on the block for garbage

The buyouts both go down to about $800k after this coming season. Billy G will load up then. MIN is staying on course this season in anticipation, not blowing anything up.

NJD troll fan using their time to try to hypothetically poach Kaprizov. All the while, giving away Eriksson-Ek for pennies on the dollar. Yikes.
Once the buyouts are off the books, Billy G loads up. Simple.

Shot in the dark caps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lolo205</b></div><div>Wild decline. They aren't looking to trade Rossi for a bad pick and player that's practically the same size with a worse stat. It's been made clear what bill guerin is looking for</div></div>
CapFriendly has always had outdated information on Caps players and prospects. McMichael is listed as 6'0" (183 cm) on every site other than CapFriendly. However, I do agree that the trade makes little sense for either team. The caps need a 1C, and Rossi doesn't fit that bill yet (and isn't tracking to be one since COVID), the wild need an upgrade on Rossi if they trade him, McMike is not an upgrade over Rossi

You think you’re being smart by saying this, but you really just exposed yourself as someone who doesn’t know a thing about Rossi.
Rossi plays exactly like Eriksson Ek. Most of his goals are in the gritty areas in front of the net.

It’s actually not fun at all for Minnesota. Would rather keep Rossi and see if he can take the next step to 50-60 points.

Losing Landeskog and Nichushkin
You’ll need to swap in your 2024 1st for the 5th round pick. Middleton gets a 1st on his own. Gus at 50% retained should get a 1st as well.

Necas has been over 60 points ONCE in his career. 2 of the past 3 years he had 53 or fewer points. I think if you're expecting people to value Necas like a 60-70 point player, you will be disappointed in any trade made in real life.

Necas
Regardless of what the Wild could offer Carolina, I don’t think they could give out the contract Necas would want, AAV-wise. The dead cap hamstrings them for one more year. I see them signing a David Perron or perhaps Patrick Kane on a one or two year deal to play with Rossi instead. Trade Gus to a needy team for a 2nd. Then they’ll decide what to do with Rossi next summer. It’s still a holding pattern in Minnesota.
Also, JEEk is the most off-limits player on the team.

Draft day Trade
Why do so many Toronto guys keep trying to shoehorn Mitch Marner and his $10.9 million cap hit into cap-stressed rosters like Minnesota ($14.75 million dead cap next season) or Los Angeles ($20.9 million to re-sign Quinton Byfield and fill both goalie positions and eight other roster slots)? The proposed trade in this ACGM adds about $6 million (depending upon what Liljegren's new contract costs) to Minnesota's already serious cap problem and create an almost hopeless inability to re-sign both Marner and Brock Faber in 2025. Please go play pretend-Marner-is-going-somewhere with teams like Utah and Chicago and Nashville and Columbus.

With all due respect, the Wild aren't trading Marco Rossi for an old player and a pick. They're not trading him for a rental and a pick, either.

His value is that of a 2nd pairing guy making a shade under $2.5M. He’s probably worth a late 1st before retention.

Haha, why on earth would Minnesota accept that crap trade offer for Middleton. And you have Minnesota retaining 50%… take the 4ths out and add your 1st at bare minimum.
