a late 2nd wouldnt even get them a seat at the big boy table with teams like EDM,CGY,CAR,MIN,CAR and LA linked to the Captain STL has to step it up
LA has Vlardi who's tearing up Jr right now so even if STL offered all this its still likely not enough if an LA offers up a Vlardi or CAR offers up a Rask or Miller (debate there who's going out so Miller can come up or if Miller goes)</div></div>
Friendly word of advice: please structure your sentences a bit better, or use punctuation a bit more, as it's hard to figure out what you're trying to say. Which is a shame, really because it seems like you might have had somewhat of a valid point.
That being said, I'd have to agree that a late 2nd wouldn't cut it.

how many games did you watch Danault play in junior?
i've literally lost count
he was always LW and PK/PP Center only
5v5 his ass was on 3rd pair LW with Gourde or Barbashev in later years as his Center
unlike you i'm a die hard QMJHL fan its why i can tell you not only how they played but who with</div></div>
That whole sentence in bold is one of the most absurd things I've ever seen. Come on, like a "gif" not a meme can be any kind of indication of what someone does on their spare time. this whole discussion with you has become a joke. You are the most confrontational person on this site, you really seem to get a kick out of it.
I watch a lot of OHL games, I see the 67's play quite often (i'm in OTT and hate the Sens, so I go see the 67's and the occasional game in Gatineau seeing the QMJHL Olympiques). I was also in Barrie for a while and watched some Colts games.
For Danault, I simply looked up how he was classified for his respective teams going all the way back to junior. and it specifies Center. If I'm wrong about Junior, so be it. But for you to go out and start saying Danault isn't a Center, when that's been his position his entire <strong>Pro career</strong>. I'm sorry you are wrong. Go preach you're BS elsewhere.

in terms of legit RW prospects, other than Scherbak and Bitten Habs have nothing....MTL's organizational depth at that position is
Gallagher
Shaw
Scherbak
Logan Shaw (useless)
Bitten
Baun (useless)
Gregoire (nothing)
Waked (nothing)
as you can see having someone like Tippett would be beneficial. The Habs prospects cupboard is bare, so it's in fact saying that we don't need Tippett that doesn't make sense. Habs can use all the prospects they can get their hands on.

Offseason to Plan for Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Looking at Carlo's numbers that matter here:
relCF% (how much you possess the puck and generate a positive shot differential relative to your teammates and competition): = <strong>-3.21</strong> <----terrible possession guy
relxGF% (how good are you at preventing quality shots for your opponents and generating quality shots for your team relative to league teammates/competition) = <strong>0.7</strong>
Looking at Tony Deangelo at those same numbers:
relCF% = +6.22 <---- great possession guy
relxGF% = 3.92
Now the crazy part is you'd think that Carlo would look a lot better because he's paired with Krug who is awesome. And you'd think Deangelo would look a lot worse because he's been mainly paired with Marc Staal and Brendan Smith. But what's crazy is that Carlo has looked THAT much worse despite that. Now surely Carlo is going to get a lot better he's only 21, and Deangelo is a savvy veteran at....22. We don't want Carlo at all. Please keep him.
Since Carlo is trash, Bjork would have to be a bonafide high top 6 winger (think like trading for Pasta 3 years ago), and he's not that. And we can actually kind of see that in the numbers already. The best future indicator of scoring is ixGF/60 (how often are you personally generating quality shots that would likely be goals per 60 minutes)- And Pastrnak is in the top 5 on the team every year he's been in the NHL averaging about .7.
Now there's a guy on the Bruins now who averages around .7 this year, and that's Debrusk and then we look down and see Bjork 9 players down the Bruins list at .4. (He's lower than Jordan Szwarz).</div></div>
This may be the stupidest argument I have ever seen. bawhahahahahahahaha

Bergevin fails the last 5 years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>this is why Architect is blocked
Koivu did have a mob at him over not speaking french
the year he left it was all over the media to the point it was nauseating .
the articles are all still there time stamped for you to see he just hoped Opinion > Fact
anyone who thought MTL fans left Koivu alone didnt read his comments he released defending his lack of french just to they'd stop FFS
the fact that he thinks Beaulieu Mr Turnover King is a good playmaker proves his knowledge is suspect at best .
Beaulieu being given space to grow when MB cleared out our entire LD after our ECF is why we tail spinned giving up
350 hits and 400+ blocked shots between Murray ,Boullion and Gorges and replacing them with Beaulieu ,Emelin and Gilbert .
Subbans a Cancer because he is all bout himself
even with Ellis the top RD out to start the season PK never left 2nd pair they promoted Ekhom a LD instead because Subban his first 25 games in NSH
played with Josi on top pair but Subban kept leaving him out to dry to the point Josi was getting pissed staring Subban down and getting pissed on the bench.
until Subban got injured all you heard was Josi and Fisher talking with the coach about Subbans attitude putting himself above the team.
as soon as they moved him to his own Pair on 2nd all that stopped and Subban began thriving when everyone accepted that they paid for a 2nd pair D to make 9/9.25m their other 3 top 4 make combined . guaranteed by next trade deadline he's moved because Ellis's payday comes first then Josi's and they wont keep subban just for him to go UFA when they have to re-sign Ekholm instead they'll likely Use Subban to land a Kessel or something like that</div></div>
Block me all you want. And you can accuse me all you want on opinion>fact .
The apparent fact is alot of your opinions are hyperbole.
Subban was critisized like you said in the beggining of last year. This year I haven't heard anything remotely close to him being a cancer. He's also averaging 40 secs less than Josi, while playing on 2nd pair. It doesn't also help your case that he's in the Norris convesation. Fake news
I went to look for any stories about a French mob gathering in front of the Bell to protest Koivu, and there was nada. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt so please post link...in English.
As for Radulov, he was going through a divorce. So to state that his decision was based on what's beneficial for his family, is inaccurate. You can speculate all you want, nobody knows the real reason. It could as easily been MBs own ego biting him on the ass. Fake news
Cause Markov didn't make the Olympic team is a weak argument. You're indirectly saying that we're better off with Alzner and he's contract than Markovs supposedly 2 yr 6 mill. That's ludicrous. Alzner can block shots all day, but he can't drive the play out of the zone. I can't believe you're using analytics to back up Alzner. He's Washington's sloppy seconds, why should he be good enough to play for the Habs? Isn't it obvious to you why this team is so much shitier than last years? fact that you think the Habs were better off protecting Benn instead of Beaulieu is also ludicrous. At least Beaulieu put up almost 30 points. You're like a "mini me" version on MB, you got the same mediocre vision for this team. Destined for mediocrity.
I think your own perseption of your knowledge is suspect.
Spirax wanted to make a fun post about what the team would of looked like if MB hadn't messed with it. And you went and wrote a novel in response.
On another note, when you talk about me, try adressing it directly to me. Cause you sound like Paul Pot...a genecidal psychopath trying to recruit uneducated peasants to form a resistance party to go to battle against me. Stop insulting everyone's inteligence with your "fake news". And stop being pretentious with your analytics.
The only reason you get stars on your ACGM is cause of all the time you spend writing useless "additional information". But when I Iook at your teams, I see middle of the pack teams talentwise. And no those 3 1st round picks that you are so hard trying to acquire from other teams won't replenish the prospect cupboard.
Make sure to not unblock me accidentally...again

Year #1: HEADLINE: Bergevin Out! Pierre McGuire... IN ;)
Funny how folks use stats to make justify players. Last year two of three top turnover players were Eric Karlsson and Burns. I guess they had the most because they had the puck frequently. See Silly739 hasn't got cable yet, and hasn't witnessed Dermot in the AHL or NHL. Leafs fans have never pounded the NHL abilities of any defencemen prospects except Dermot and Liljgren, which seems to very realistic. Habs fans keep on trading Fucale and McCarron in 50% of NHL trades. Dream on.

Making Sense of a Phaneuf Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Gaborik is definitely long term but at 4.8M Phaneuf is long term also but at 7M!</div></div>
Okay, so... 2.2M apart, out of what could be an 80M salary cap next year.... Phaneuf is known for his play in the defensive end, which Gaborik has not been to this year, but Phaneuf also has two more points right now than Gaborik. Someone who calls themselves "corsi" might notice that Phaneuf is still playing the minutes and zone starts of a top four stay at home defenseman, and on pace for just over the league average of thirty points, whereas Gaborik is starting 60% of his shifts in the offensive zone and only has a corsi of 50%... a 10% drop. Coaches try to tilt the ice in Gaborik's favor, but age tilts it right back to even.
Phanuf's corsi of 43% is worrisome until you notice he only starts 45% of his shifts in the offensive zone. A two percent drop there isn't great, but it's nothing to go trading him for Marian "superstar goal scorer on pace for fourteen goals if he stays healthy" Gaborik over.

also here's a list of Centers who refused to be abused in MTL
Spezza - blocked a trade despite not having to move and it paying more money instead he moved 1000's of miles to USA to a small market .
Kesler- laughed in our face
Staal- signed with MIN for less then half what we offered him just to play in a small stress free market .

our fans literally create a mob outside the arena everytime they are mad so we shouldnt be surprised given the Cunneyworth situation they see
that as how fans here treat people who wont learn french</div></div>
It doesn't matter...offense starts from puck moving D. Markov, Mete, Sergachev, Petry, Jerabek, Beaulieu can all move the puck.
Would of preferred to over pay for Radulov and keep Sergachev over Drouin. Who cares about the PP, Drouin and AG are -27, worst in the league.
Why isn't Subban a cancer in NSH?
Who cares about Spezza, Kesler and Staal? They're all dinosaurs. Staal should of came here 6 yrs ago.
Explain me please why there was no mob when Koivu was here and didn't make an effort to learn french?

I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that Alzner is carrying Petry, and not the other way around?
Before I say anything else, Alzner has improved lately, so credit where it is due, but Petry is still carrying the pair. The only difference is that Petry has had to step in offensively more frequently, and can now rely on Alzner to cover his pinches.
Plus/minus is not a valid statistic to compare the two.
Petry plays more on the PP, where you don't get credit for goals for.
Alzner plays more on the PK, where you don't get credit for goals against.
Most of the time, they are together at even strength. Since Montreal hasn't been scoring a lot at even strength, they would be relatively close, but both still in the minus column.
Petry only has about 10 less blocks than Alzner, and about 20 more hits. If you factor in special teams, Petry would have more blocks than Alzner as well. Petry isn't known for hitting or blocking shots, so the guy that is supposed to be doing those things should be decidedly better.
The problem is that you can't block shots when you are out of position, and you can't hit guys when they skate or move the puck past you before you close the gap. Those have been major flaws in Alzner's game this season.
It often falls to Petry to compensate for Alzner's positioning, as he either gets caught puck watching or chasing. Less noticeable lately, but it was blatantly obvious when watching the games prior to that.
More often than not, when Petry was made to look stupid on a play, it was because Alzner was caught in no man's land, so Petry would have to make a desperate attempt to do two jobs at once.
I don't understand how Petry, who has had a few decent years despite questionable partners, is having a career year, but getting so much extra criticism.

7- Real 3rd Line Center trades - NYR, OTT, MTL, NYI, ARI, EDM, CAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>you dont understand Supply vs Demand if you think that
Hanzal in no way shape or form was worth what he got he was just the only Center avaliable

I do understand supply and demand. You seem to not understand that demand is non-existent when prices are pushed above what anyone would be willing to pay.
I agree that Hanzal last year was a brutal trade, and everyone knew it at the time. Hanzal also had 16 goals at the time, along with a 1.67 P/60 (versus 1.23 for Plekanec this year). You've also brought up Plekanec's faceoff prowess (51.85%) to me on other posts trying to sell this idea that he's worth a 1st. Hanzal was at 56.02% at the time of the trade.
Just because someone did something dumb once, doesn't mean you can expect to have it happen again, especially where there was at least an argument to be made that Hanzal was a decent #2 centre. Plekanec is a borderline 3/4 centre, and that will never bring back a 1st rounder.
You're welcome to come back to me in 2 weeks with "I told you so" if someone is actually dumb enough to do that, but in reality, it's way more likely to be a 3rd than a 1st that goes back to Montreal.

Doesn't matter if they're 4th line or not. Captains go to Zetterberg, the Sedins, Karlsson, and Backstrom.

my team Canada
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>greasy</b></div><div>Why do you think Toews shouldn't be on this team?? he's only 29 and still one of the smartest and best all round players today</div></div>
I think theres better guys that could make it like Andrew Shaw and Paul Byron ;)
in all seriousness though, some guys who I excluded from my list include: Sean couturier, Ryan getzlaf, Sean monahan, John huberdeau, Eric staal, mark stone, etc...
do some of those guys deserve to make it over toews? depends who you ask. theyre all having fantastic seasons, better than toews, but certainly do not have the pedigree that he has. team Canada has so many amazing players it would be more fair to the rest of the world if we had team Ontario, team west, and team Quebec/ east coast :applaud

exactly. plus team Canada favourites Jeff Carter and shea weber also have a shot at making this team due to politics

3way with ARZ and ANA
ARZ would probably prefer to keep that 2018 1st. What ever prospect you propose to grow along with OEL, it's not happening since he's being shopped. And clearly you have a thing for Kosilla. If he's not good enough to make the Ducks team at 25 yrs old, then he's shouldn't be worthy of a Pacioretty return package.

Paccio and Radu together
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>sure i'd do it
but i dont see them giving up the leader for the Norris Trophy Finalists that cheap .
Everyone talks about Subban but he's not almost a point per game as a D like Lindell
plus Spezza blocked a trade to play for MTL
he's unlikely to want to play here . (its just easier to drop him and add Brett Ritchie then its)
the only way i see them giving up Lindell is if he's the focus of the trade
Lindell,Ritchie and Faska for
Patches, Alzner and Plekanec.
-gives them a RD to fill the void who is a PP specialist and 2nd PK regular capable of up to 27 minutes
-Patches a 30 goal scorer heating up with chemistry with Red hot Radulov with 2250000 retained cap
-Plekky to fill Faska's depth faceoff duties for a playoff run at 3 m retained cap
they give up two bottom 6 and a top LD who is norris trophy finalist no doubt
they get a 30 goal scorer an ironman LD who hits and blocks shots and a PK specialist as well as a 4th line C capable of playing more minutes if injuries as well as uniting 2/3 of team Czechs top line in past years
in Plekanec and Hanzal .
it gives you everything you need for DAL including Established Chemistry without losing much outside Lindell
but even then i think MTL would need to add in a top goalie prospect to make it work</div></div>
youre definitely confusing Lindell with klingberg bud. wow mr hockey expert over

Wild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>there is no upside for MTL in this
JEE isnt better then chucky and we've busted essentially all our late 1st round picks since Hiring Larry Carriere in 2011 as Molsons first hire .
i'd keep chucky ,drouin, sherbak, mete gallagher, shaw ,weber and price building around them and if you can move out a Patches ,Byron,Plekky ,Hudon ,Lehkonen,Jerabek ,Petry or Alzner i'd do so
thats just me , Chucky-Drouin lead montreal in PP points since the christmas break we went from 26th PP to 9th PP in the NHL and its the first time in years our PP is worth a **** .</div></div>
Busted all our firsts since 2011.... Says keep Chucky,Scherbak lol. I would also like to defend Montreal in this case. In 2012 We draft Galchenyuk who is still the highest point getter in the draft and currently on the top line in Montreal, how is that a bust? In 2013 we drafted Mccarron who at the time Timmins said was a 5 year builder its currently year 4. 2014 we drafted Scherbak who before being called up was a APG in the AHL and since being called up has been our best forward everygame (Besides Gallagher of course). 2015 we drafted Juulsen who played great in Junior and has been playing pretty poorly in the AHL but the whole team is terrible (We can count him as a bust I guess). 2016 was Sergechev who sure as hell wasnt a bust. 2017 was Poehling who played great in the WJC and is a PPG in the NCAA

So we are just going to ignore the cup they got in 07 then?
