as good as it looks, good luck signing kucherov, point and servachev the next year or 2. those 3 alone will take up $20M. one of the bigger names would have to go.

I think they would do it given how deep the draft is. They could snag a potential franchise center at 13 in McLeod or Bellows. Could maybe get both of them with those two first round picks.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div><i>$6.5M seems a little excessive... He played with the HART TROPHY WINNER all year long. That kind of money deserves to go to a player that makes everyone else better while also scoring. He's not worth Tarasenko money yet. Maybe a bridge deal, but at his age I don't think he'll agree to that. I'd prefer to wait...keep him with Kane and then trade him next year. He'll bring back an insane hual and Kane CAN make everyone around him better.</i></div></div>
This is all wrong in so many ways. First of all, $6.5M is not excessive and thats not Tarasenko money. Tarasenko is at $7.5M. Second, a bridge deal is the worst idea possible for Panarin. If he takes a bridge deal and puts up 70 points every year in that deal (which he absolutely will) then he would get $8M+ by the time its over. Better to lock him up for a long time at a lower price now before he gets any better. Hes only 24. And he absolutely makes Kane better, hence the 18 point difference between his previous career high and this seasons numbers. You must not have watched the 2 games this year that Panarin missed...Kane struggled a bit.

The Shaw + Campbell signings make resigning Panarin or Teuvo impossible, why not trade Teuvo for scoring if you're going to set the lineup that way?</i></div></div>
Lundberg or Hartman could easily be swapped with Baun/Mashinter. Wasn's saying they are definitely out. Also, Motte will be in Rockford. Don't think he's NHL ready just yet. As for Campbell, its only one year so he is off the books for 2017-2018. Panarin and Teuvo will get around $9 mil combined. Panarin long term, Teuvo on a bridge deal.</i></div></div>
Watching Motte in the few games he played in the AHL, I will be flummoxed if he doesn't get the Saad treatment. Called up early to mid-year, 10G/20A. He's good. Really good.
Right, so 9M for Panarin and Teuvo. You have $1,225,00 from Scuderi and Rundblad falling off the books. 2M from Campbell. Assuming Panarin doesn't his bonus (which is a nasty risk), add $3.5. 4.5M from Desi, Pokka, Teuvo, Darling, and Kempny. Now let's assume the cap goes up $2M, which seems okay.
Now you have a best case scenario of $13.5M to re-sign Pokka, Kempny, Panarin, Teuvo, and Darling + 1 winger. That's scary tight, and that's in a best case scenario.</i></div></div>
Panarin = $6.5M, Teuvo = $2.5M-3M, Pokka & Kempny = $3M which all equals $12.5M...Still $1M left of your $13.5 to sign a winger. Darling is all but gone after this season...hence the Lars Johansson signing.

Chicago doesnt have the space to pay Josefson $3 mil per year, especially as a fourth liner

REALISTIC 16-17 WITH TRADES
The Brown trade to Boston wasnt necessarily saying thats where he should absolutely go..kind of just a toss up on the team. Makes sense why they would want a player like Brown though when they lost Lucic. Brown can definitely still compete and make an impact in games. Plus, after the 15-16 season Boston will have close to $23 mil WITHOUT taking into consideration the raise in the cap. They would be able to afford Brown.

Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jarett18</b></div><div><i>5-on-5 Nielsen produces at the level of a very good 3rd line/weak 2nd line centre. A pretty good % of his production comes on the PP and he can also play the PK. So call him a good 3rd line centre with ability to play special teams. And keep in mind he'll be 32 next year. He shouldn't get more than $4mil, not saying he won't, but shouldn't. He's basically Tyler Bozak on a better team.
And the Coyotes have plenty of cap space, not money. Remember, they're not going to be cap team as long as they are in Glendale. They definitely aren't trading OEL anytime soon though.</i></div></div>
Nielsen produces just fine 5-on-5...82 out of his 130 points from the last three years come EVS. And 34 out of his 45 goals from the last three years come EVS. He also outscored almost half the leagues second line centers last season solidifying that he is perfectly capable of being a good second line center in the league. Being 32 will not deter him from getting paid...He is yet to get his "big contract" in his career and I am most certain it is coming next year. If you dig into his comparables, he will bank way over $4mil per season.

Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div><i>Let's not give Nielsen too much credit...he's a 3rd line center on a team that didn't make the playoffs. Over paying for Sutter could be a reason why many predict the Canucks to be in the bottom 5 this year. And having lived in AZ and gone to games...I'm very confident that they'll trade OEL. Maybe not this deal, but in no situation does he stay in AZ. They've never come close to paying anyone the kind of money he'll command. Pay Hossa is $1,000,000!!! , Daley is $2.7, and a draft pick.</i></div></div>
You are very confused buddy. First off, Nielsen is a SECOND line center on a team that definitely DID make the playoffs. He can also be a first line center on a handful of teams. Over the course of his current four year deal, he has .63 points per game...thats 52 points per season if you do the math. 52 points per season, not including his intangibles,\ will net you around $4.5 to $5 mil (at least) in the new CBA.
Second of all, OEL is not going anywhere and the Coyotes will have all the money in the world to give him what he wants. Also, Hossa and Daley's SALARY will be $1 mil and $2.7 mil respectively...if ARI picks them up their cap hits are what counts, not their salary for that given year.

If anyone is able to sign Nielsen at $3.5 mil for 3 years next offseason that would be the contract of the decade...especially after a guy like Brandon Sutter got $4.4
