Panarin bonus accounted for

Rasmussen accepts QO

Shaw takes a small raise for one year to stay in Chicago...gets big deal next summer

Panik signs a bridge deal

Campbell comes back and finishes his career in Chicago

Bickell packaged with McNeill and a 4th is plenty return for a 4th round pick. Toronto has plenty of money to take on Bickell's contract for one season. Fresh start could help too.

    No Lundberg, Motte, or Hartman?

The Shaw + Campbell signings make resigning Panarin or Teuvo impossible, why not trade Teuvo for scoring if you're going to set the lineup that way?

Lundberg or Hartman could easily be swapped with Baun/Mashinter. Wasn's saying they are definitely out. Also, Motte will be in Rockford. Don't think he's NHL ready just yet. As for Campbell, its only one year so he is off the books for 2017-2018. Panarin and Teuvo will get around $9 mil combined. Panarin long term, Teuvo on a bridge deal.

Watching Motte in the few games he played in the AHL, I will be flummoxed if he doesn't get the Saad treatment. Called up early to mid-year, 10G/20A. He's good. Really good.

Right, so 9M for Panarin and Teuvo. You have $1,225,00 from Scuderi and Rundblad falling off the books. 2M from Campbell. Assuming Panarin doesn't his bonus (which is a nasty risk), add $3.5. 4.5M from Desi, Pokka, Teuvo, Darling, and Kempny. Now let's assume the cap goes up $2M, which seems okay.

Now you have a best case scenario of $13.5M to re-sign Pokka, Kempny, Panarin, Teuvo, and Darling + 1 winger. That's scary tight, and that's in a best case scenario.

Panarin = $6.5M, Teuvo = $2.5M-3M, Pokka & Kempny = $3M which all equals $12.5M...Still $1M left of your $13.5 to sign a winger. Darling is all but gone after this season...hence the Lars Johansson signing.

You may be correct about Campbell, but he might feel his best change at a Cup is with Florida. i'm sure Shaw would be looking at a longer deal.

$6.5M seems a little excessive... He played with the HART TROPHY WINNER all year long. That kind of money deserves to go to a player that makes everyone else better while also scoring. He's not worth Tarasenko money yet. Maybe a bridge deal, but at his age I don't think he'll agree to that. I'd prefer to wait...keep him with Kane and then trade him next year. He'll bring back an insane hual and Kane CAN make everyone around him better.

This is all wrong in so many ways. First of all, $6.5M is not excessive and thats not Tarasenko money. Tarasenko is at $7.5M. Second, a bridge deal is the worst idea possible for Panarin. If he takes a bridge deal and puts up 70 points every year in that deal (which he absolutely will) then he would get $8M+ by the time its over. Better to lock him up for a long time at a lower price now before he gets any better. Hes only 24. And he absolutely makes Kane better, hence the 18 point difference between his previous career high and this seasons numbers. You must not have watched the 2 games this year that Panarin missed...Kane struggled a bit.
