Besides, Eichel is another long term contract with a NMC, and his health is a pretty big question mark right now.</div></div>
I would say it is completely fair to question his health but if a trade were to be in place minny team doctors would obviously assess the situation and their opinion would be extremely important in coming to a decision on if its worth pursuing or not. As for Zuccarello even when his nmc expires that would still be a difficult contract to move. Would probably have to attach decent assets to move it although i think it could be done

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>You're getting a first line, 70 point winger (possibly more) and a top pairing RHD. That is significant.</div></div>
A "top pair" rhd who will be ufa after next season and will walk right into ufa. Buffalo needs more if they are giving up a top 10 centre. As for Fiala, he has never produced 70 points ever in his career or even been on pace for 70 points so although i think he's a great top 6 winger it is unfair to assume 70 point seasons from him although i think its possible

Thats fair but im not really sure what else you can do in this situation. Took Vegas to 7 without Eichel. Who knows what could happen with arguably a top 10 centre in the league on this team. Past GM's have really handcuffed this team with long term contracts attached with NMC's.

If you take out Kahkonen you would have to either expose him in expansion or expose talbot and Boldy is arguably the biggest piece of this deal. If you want to acquire a top centre, you are going to have to give up significant assets.

I did not create this aging d core. Past GM's did. They all have NMC's and Dumba is going to have to be moved or exposed in expansion. In terms of the d Minny has kind of handcuffed themselves in this situation

Rossi might be a must but with his health concerns and the fact Buffalo passed on him at the draft they might be skeptical of the player and prefer Boldy as the prospect they want instead. They also have big ties to USA hockey which makes me believe they might prefer Boldy but im just speculating at this point

21-22 nucks offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juiceman</b></div><div>That Juolevi trade makes no sense. He’s a cheap young defensemen who could definitely bring more back than a fifth round pick. What value does he have? You might as well recoup any asset you can for him at this point. There is no way you could get a 2nd or 3rd for him at this point as he has barely played and when he has in a very sheltered role. Also requires waivers next season. Better to get something for him than nothing

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigShoots</b></div><div>unfortunately Gaudette and Virtanen will cost more than that.</div></div>
I'm not too sure about if they will or not. I think the canucks will try to argue motte is more valuable due to being a "PK Specialist" and Gaudettes overall defensive game being somewhat poor also citing the fact he hasnt taken over a 3rd line centre role full time. And if im not mistaken, Gaudette is not eligible for an arb case so that could work in the Canucks favour. Virtanens arb case will be pushing 3 mil but im almost certain it wont be more than that. Only time will tell though so i guess we will see.

If the Kings were to accept a lesser pick and a prospect for Roussel, you'll have to do better on the prospect. Kings will want a forward. Hoglander perhaps.</div></div>
There is no way in hell a first round pick or a top prospect would have to be attached to Roussel. His contract isnt great, but there is no way it is not moveable. Especially if we are taking back pretty much half the salary with this wagner trade idea. I think the canucks obviously need to add a prospect and a pick to get rid of Roussel, but I disagree that it would have to be a first rounder or top prospect.

Thats fine. Just wondering if there could be a deal here to be had. Kings have some cap space and they could take on the leftover 2 years of Roussel for a pick and a prospect. Seems like a fine deal for them considering Roussel for Wagner is pretty much a lateral move.

Does Woo fit the NJD rebuild? 2nd rounder a couple seasons ago who is also a RHD. Also Virtanen who scored 18 goals this season and was on pace for 20 at 23 years old. Benn was kind of just a dump in as NJD have some cap space and I also threw in a 3rd. How much more value do you think i need to add?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabres923</b></div><div>So the Sabres lose the better player??</div></div>
Essentially, yes. But they do gain an asset to address a weakness, as well as getting an additional prospect and pick. And not that ppg is the be all end all but over 82 games Sutter was on pace for about 32 points. Johansson on pace for 41. Sutter is also a centre so I think gm's would place higher value on a centre over a winger although Johansson did play some centre. I threw in the prospect and pick to balance it out a little. Hope my explanation makes sense to you. Also feel free to tell me how you would change it.

I just don’t think that a 4th liner like Eriksson is worth the extra cap hit of $2.4 million this year, and $1.8 million next year (assuming both players get bought out). Instead we could just use Belzile, who is just as good, and would be making league minimum.</div></div>
Makes sense. Maybe Detroit would be a better spot for Eriksson instead of MTL. Abdelkader at 4.75 mil i think for one extra season than Eriksson. Cap hit is higher on Eriksson but we take Abdelkader for one extra season. One for One deal would prob get that done.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>Actual money paid isn’t something the habs will make moves to change. Geoff Moulson doesn’t have any financial troubles, and putting the team in a position to win is obviously more important than saving a bit of money.
And while Roussel is french, he’s from France, and the only connection he has to Quebec is that he played 4 seasons in Chicoutimi. And even if he were from Quebec, that’s no reason to trade for a player.</div></div>
I dont disagree with you at all. I figured the Eriksson for Alzner deal would actually help the habs as Eriksson is at least an NHL player still, just at a higher cap hit. And I wasnt insinuating that Moulson was in financial trouble but during covid times, I figured owners might want to shed some cash owed for this season while still upgrading the team albeit slightly. As for Roussel just because he is French is not a reason to trade for him, that is correct. For the Canucks lineup I just figured I would trade him to MTL and throw in a prospect. You could replace MTL with any team and the deal would stand for Roussel.

Alzner vs Eriksson doesn’t make senses for us either, Alzner buried in the minor cost ~3.6M, Eriksson 6M ... Again, we need capspace for 2021</div></div>
My point with the Eriksson and Alzner deal is that Erikssons actual cash payment is lower even though his cap hit is higher. I understand your reasoning though, cap space is such a valuable asset on its own. As for Roussel I wasn't thinking MTL had a great amount of interest in him tbh I only traded him to MTL because he is French. That's the only connection there. You could replace MTL with any team with a decent amount of cap space and the deal would still stand. It wasn't about MTL having interest, it was more just about moving him and I only chose MTL because of the French connection. Thanks for your input

Fair enough. I have not tried the buy out calculator to see what buying out Alzner would be like but I guess you could just continue to leave him in Laval. I was just thinking that their salaries would be somewhat of a lateral move and Eriksson would be a guy who could potentially play in MTL's lineup but your reasoning seems fair
