That Juolevi trade makes no sense. He’s a cheap young defensemen who could definitely bring more back than a fifth round pick. Doesn’t matter how much of a bust he is, he’s probably gonna be better than any fifth round pick

What value does he have? You might as well recoup any asset you can for him at this point. There is no way you could get a 2nd or 3rd for him at this point as he has barely played and when he has in a very sheltered role. Also requires waivers next season. Better to get something for him than nothing

But I'd rather use Bahl, Okhotyuk in 6/7 d-man role

I don't watch the devils too much but he's a young player who could play now for cheap if you want to let Bahl and Okhotyuk continue to develop in the ahl for an additional season

Bahl is ready for real minutes at NHL level.
He showed well in his limited time with Devils this season.
Okhotyuk is basically just a human missile - hits hard, but doesn't project more than 6th/7th d-man.

Since d-man market will probably be cheap again this summer, I think we do another Ryan Murray-type trade.
Buy another year until Mukhamadullin, Edwards, Walsh, McCarthy, Vukojevic and possibly Luke Hughes or Brandt Clarke are ready.
