Deadline move question

Roughly 1st/3rd/mid prospect or similar type value for the pair.</div></div>
Totally forgot about the Cap Hell they're in up there. Probably not happening then if it'll need a 1st. Unless they want to wait until 2025 for the pick.

I do like the idea of that too. I know they've given Lindholm a ton of time at center in camp, maybe he becomes an option at C as well.

Crazy to think. I remember Chiarelli asking the NHL for a waiver to get a goalie above the age of 23 because they didn’t think anyone could fill the role

Getting the best two way center line
The Bruins already have the best two-way center. They don't need to make a trade to acquire him. He's under contract already.

Cup Run
Giving up way too much for Hayes and McQuaid. Frederic is one of the team's top prospects. Bjork has the talent, he's just been snakebitten by injury since turning pro. and Zboril (despite not looking amazing) is a former 1st rounder. Giving them up for 2 impending UFAs is too much.

Still one of the best 3 on 3's I've ever watched....the whole Sweden game was crazy. Matthews' display of hands on the goal to make it 1-0 was unreal.

I'm with you on Nordstrom. Don't like the signing, but I I feel they play him to start because of the deal they signed him to. And I can easily see Wagner being in the lineup as well. 4th line can go like 4 different ways to start the year.

Season Opener?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>If anything Backes goes to the 4th line. Heinen had nearly 50 points as a rookie, so playing him with Kuraly and Nordstrom isn't going to help his development.
I'm a huge Bjork guy, but I could see him getting some time in the AHL (considering he's coming off injury) if he doesn't blow them away in camp.
Studnicka and Frederic are both major sleepers to earn a spot and I think they'll compete against JFK for #3C to start the year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Studnicka get the nod for a 7-9 games before Boston decides whether or not to keep him or send him back to juniors. This also gives JFK some ample minutes in the AHL to make sure he's good to go after his concussion last year.
I think Acciari could be an odd man out here. He role is really just a 4th line checker (something Backes & Wagner bring). He's only got a year left on his deal, so maybe you could get a later pick or package him in a deal.
Lastly, I could see Moore paired with Carlo and Krug on the 3rd pairing. Give Krug lesser competition to face and double him up on both PP's</div></div>
Understand where you're coming from on all of this. On the Studnicka/Frederic/JFK thing. I'm personally convinced they're giving Frederic a whole season in the AHL to let him develop even more than he already has. I do like the idea of Studnicka getting the 7-9 game stint before they make their decision on what to do, especially with JFK coming off the concussion. Who knows really. I guess it's good for a team to have plenty of options, especially if they run into the injury bug they had last season.

Season Opener?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Propeller09</b></div><div>Agree with Most of it.
I think it's Miller or Krug that they move though. They both have move value in return, and Mcquaid comes off next year any way and is a solid 6/7th dman and he will likely resign and be cheaper next year. Miller has the extra year and is a bit redundant. McAvoy and Carlo should carry the load on the right side. Moore has played RD too, so he can fill in there if need be. Golobeuf can fill in in case of short term injury on the right as well.
I think Backes slots down, but who knows. I also think Wagner makes in the lineup due to physicality. If they do go with JFK or Studnicka, they may want a vet out there with them.</div></div>
I can still see them moving Krug or Miller, but I feel that McQuaid will ultimately be the guy. To me, if a team loses a guy long term or for the season in camp or pre-season, they'll likely take McQuaid because he only has one year left and he is a low risk/reward guy. In the case of Krug, I feel we see some news on him once the Karlsson domino falls.

Season Opener?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>You started out with some good concepts here, but I have a couple big issues.
I like the idea of breaking up the top line for some depth. I like the idea of a kid grabbing the third line center role, but I think it Studnicka is the most likely candidate. I thought Bjork looked okay at best with Bergeron and Marchand. He's fast, but I dont think he can think the game at close to their speed. I actually think Heinen is the guy that would fit best there. You really lost me on the "heinen and backes are interchangeable," concept though. Heinen was fourth among bruins forwards in points last year. It was the first line, and then heinen.....aandddd now he's on the fourth line behind two rookies and a guy that looked like he was closer to retirement than top 9 minutes in the playoffs. Heinen is at worst third line and I think the way the off season is shaping up he'll likely be riding with either Krejci or Bergeron. The other problem is Grizz. They didn't give that dude two years to have him be the 7th d. He was fantastic all year for them. He got called up and refused to give the job up. They brought in Holden thinking he wasn't ready for playoff hockey, and his play forced him into the lineup. I think he's better than Krug.</div></div>
Understand the whole Heinen/Backes situation. Don't think they're totally interchangeable because I take Heinen over Backes any day. However, I feel that if Heinen doesn't grab a top-6 spot out of camp, he falls to 4th line because even though Bruce will play the kids, he's still got a little Claude in him and I can't see him starting the season with his third line being made up of 1st or 2nd year players.
As far as Grizz, I felt that when they signed him he was a lock for a top-6 spot. But then they went out and signed Moore to a 5-year deal on the same side and still haven't traded away anybody. To me, I can't see Cassidy benching the Captain, Krug, or a newly signed D-man to play Grzelcyk. Thing can change, obviously, but right now I'm kind of stumped with the defense situation.

EDM-BOS talking. Maybe?
A 4 year 20 million dollar deal for Riley Nash is a no-go. Bruins can't afford that for a guy that plays the way he does. Pass on Maroon as well. Had inflated numbers because he has spent most of the last two seasons with the best offensive player in hockey.

Adding defense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OngoGablogian</b></div><div>That's a bit of an exaggeration, no? I think Faulk fits the Bruins system greatly. Cassidy's system has his defense supporting the offense, and Faulk would provide this. He can also play on the powerplay.
Like I said, he's EXTREMELY underrated, and Carolina knows that. You're not getting him for cheap at all.</div></div>
Bruins already have two guys that support the Cassidy system in Krug and Grzelcyk. Faulk is good and a tad underrated but he is not worth Krejci, Lauzon, and 2 picks. Also, he's a RHD and the B's need LHD. Sweeney can find somebody better with that package.

If Don Sweeney ever made that trade for Justin Faulk I'd cut my ties with the Bruins. And I know he would never do that to begin with so I'm not going to stress about it.

What I'd like to see...
Interesting reasons behind it but first off, there is no guarantee to be an expansion draft next year so if it doesn't happen the Bruins are screwed because they'll be paying 3.25 mill for a third pairing dman. And secondly he saw plenty of time against a multitude of lines (1-3) of other teams and looked terrible against whoever he was out against. He's not a good defenseman and he is not worth more than 1.5 million at max. And 1.5 is generous

You'd like to see Kevan Miller get 3.25 a year for 4 years? Did you watch him play this year? He doesn't even deserve a lick over 1 million.
