I think Boston wouldn't shy away from a cheap depth winger, but of course depends on team's situation at TDL with returning players or further injuries.

Shaking things up
I'm not sure about all of the trades but honestly, the Murray one is not a bad idea. I don't know if you could get a 1st out of it just since Mrazek only got Chicago a 2nd I think? But who knows tbh. And assuming Reimer has been ok this year (I know he was good last year), Toronto does need a goalie that can actually....dress for a game and not be overwhelmed.

Toronto trade and different pairings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Generally speaking, I don't think Toronto would be opposed to bringing him back but it probably would have to be on a cheaper deal. They wouldn't be giving up Kerfoot for him for sure.
Kapanen and Johnsson were both cap casualties and were replaced by Mikheyev and Engvall, if they were to come back they would definetly need to be on cheaper deals. I don't think the Leafs trade Joey Anderson though, he's doing very well in the AHL this season and could be a super cheap replacement for Engvall.</div></div>
Yeah I see the Anderson-Archibald thing as like a desperation move

Muzz out for the year
So I think you're in the right direction but hear me out. First of all I agree with other comments that you should both keep Sandin and get a different defenseman (more defensive). Also, You say Sandin is worth as much as a first. I personally like Sandin and think he's good. But, he is also 22, has only played 98 NHL games as of my comment, and only 31 points. I think he will become very good but if you think there isn't a team also in on Chychrun that wouldn't give up the two 1sts, more prospects, or more established guys than what you have, you're dead wrong. Seth Jones got two 1sts and is both older and signed a way more expensive deal.
Some suggestions I'd make for other defensemen to target if you really wanted to add a defensemen that is not primarily offense (not all flashy moves but good solid d-men): Carson Soucy (that would be my pick: good contract and solid defense), Vladislav Gavrikov, Justin Braun, Dmitry Kulikov, Trevor Van Riemsdyk, Nick Jensen, Brendan Dillon, Dylan DeMelo, or if you are looking at some bigger names that could be available: Ivan Provorov or Dmitry Orlov (not sure how the cap would work but w LTIR...)

Toronto trade and different pairings
Honestly I think the only thing that really makes this a murky trade for me is that Toronto already got rid of Kapanen once, and he's been arguably worse in Pittsburgh. So, if you're Toronto: why are you bringing him back? What does he do that they haven't compensated for? Kerfoot plays center which makes him way more valuable and I think he's a serviceable player (Toronto fans can correct me if not but rn they want everyone's heads on pikes). I could see the Anderson-Archibald thing though tbh.

Adds and drops by the deadline
We are (rightly mind you) saying that your trade proposals are not based in the best logic. I can understand you saying that they may have a logjam of defensemen. But, if they were going to trade a defenseman this year, I really doubt it'd be the guy signed long term for a good contract versus a pending UFA (Dumba?) or 1 year left and even then, the Wild are trying to compete so what they are getting in return is nowhere near enough.

JVR looks decent too, good 2nd/3rd pairing wing.</div></div>
Yeah I think its a good move for them to try to win now but also help out going forward. They could maybe get a better pick back for taking on Foegle and if JVR is playing well but we know how crazy the values get leading up to the deadline.

Agree with you that the fit seems weird. Also think that return is nowhere near what it'd cost, but if you're just using that as a placeholder to discuss then disregard.

Hornqvist for Dadonov - what say ye panthers fans
Like others said this would depend on their cap space. I thought Duclair was out for the season but I'm probably wrong? I do think that this idea is actually interesting. Dadonov has been good in FLA before with a lot of the same core still around, and while Hornqvist brings intangibles and some grit, he's not the main source of it like he was that first season in FLA. Definitely depends on the cap situation, but not an awful idea imo. Kudos for an interesting trade idea.

Wild Swings to Save Sheldon
I mean I guess San Jose (or any team) would like the idea of a player like Marner on their team in a vacuum. But, with what they are doing/planning, adding 10 million dollars doesn't really make any sense. If Marner is getting traded, it would be a team that has been building a while and wants to make that push. Teams like Detroit, Anaheim, LAK, Buffalo, Ottawa, NJD. I'm not saying he's going to that team specifically (obviously lots of rivals) but those KIND of teams. And there's a few who could fit that category in the coming years too which could maybe include the Sharks. But right now, that would just totally mess up their rebuilding plan.

If you want the young guys to get ice time, why are you trading away picks and young guys like Snively for Meier? I can't argue too much about Eller but that doesn't seem to be a narrative around him I've seen much.

I see no scenario where the Wild trade Brodin at the deadline, much less for that return. That's actually pretty insulting for what he is and the contract he has. The Penguins additions will be either: very low cap hit due to their space available, or possibly a medium sized move if there's significant LTIR available that won't come up before the playoffs.

Domi and Gibson
Apart from the fact that arguably the Leafs goaltending isn't really the problem (right now), I don't see how that is enough for Gibson if he's for sale. I can bet a few teams would make a better offer than LTIR Murray with term, a fringe backup goalie who maybe could develop more, and some low picks. For example: what if Carolina wants to upgrade their tandem since both goalies are FA and often injured, especially if one is out long term at the TDL. I think they could put a better package together than this Leafs offer.

I mean I guess the Caps would want to win another cup with Ovi which I totally get and respect. But, is it practical to make that kind of move with those kind of injuries and deplete your depth/picks more? Especially in some good draft years? Also, why is Eller not playing here? Has he fallen off that badly? Seems like a good middle 6 guy.

I think you could squeeze a 2nd for Soucy to be honest, MAYBE even a 1st if he's having a good year (haven't watched them enough to say). Leddy got a 2nd and Chiarot got a 1st last year, Manson was 2nd and good prospect. Donskoi seems about what you'd expect unless he goes on a tear.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>Seems to be a rather low return for Reimer half retained</div></div>
Goalies are the trickiest to gauge their value, especially as rentals. The highest draft picks goalies have been traded for recently include: Kuemper (1st), Fleury, Murray (2nd) or Georgiev, Mike Smith, Mrazek to Philly (3rd). Not including things like Mrazek or Bishop recent cap dumps which are different. Then you have guys like Dubnyk, Johansson, even Reimer a few years ago getting picked up for 4ths or lower.

Yeah I agree that that is likely not their actual location in the line up. I wrote up in the description that I try not to go too crazy with lines because I'm not a coach. I just used their practice lines from the preseason game today and Daily faceoff to estimate.

Maybe yeah. Again, to me its about who they're playing behind. When people think Nashville they think Josi, Forsberg, Saros, Ekholm, Duchene. But I understand your point.
