<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>Actually Jeff was a reclaimatino project a few years back and it would have cost the Sabres dearly to move his salary off of the team.
But Tage was never paid a significant salary and anyone who watched him play knew he would eventually find his game.
It would be difficult to find a GM who would give up 2 seconds and another young player for a UFA who has 14 in 29 games.
I assure you at the end of the 20-21 season no one would give up a third for Tage, much less two seconds and even less for Jeff. If Buffalo wanted Bertuzzi, they could just wait for the off season to sign him and keep Asplund and the two seconds.
So one can only presume "I think that guy is just a galaxy brain that we mere mortals can't comprehend" Tjm220 is a bit smarter than those who mock him.
The truth hurts some ears, no sense to waste time discussing matters with people who will not listen.</div></div>
Which includes you.

He's like those crack pots on history Channel's Ancient Aliens. "Other worldly beings came from the sky! The Sky Gods!"
Is it possible human DNA has been mixed with alien DNA? Back when the pyramids were made by the Sky Gods?
Ancient alien reclamation project Tyler Bertuzzi theorists say Yes!

I want him to go to VGK, and burn LA in the playoffs.
He gets a final laugh on his Revenge/Retire tour, and CBJ get a slightly better draft pick.
Win-win.

Press conference post trade: "Mittlestadt is a first rounder".

He’s having a less than ideal season. With the players we have on the main roster I can’t see a fit for him. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s dealt by Friday.

Just a small note: you cannot make a trade conditional upon a player re-signing any more.

I do this if I'm Drury. The only piece that really hurts is the first-rounder but when you go all-in, you go all-in. Jones has been one of my favorite prospects in recent years but with Matthew Robertson on his heels and now Mikkola ahead of him (would they re-up with him if the $ is good?), he's pretty much the odd-man out. This is without even mentioning Ben Harpur, who was given an extension.

Taking the Myers contract off TB's hands would probably increase the return beyond what you have here. Lafferty isn't like a superstar but he's a good asset and taking back a cap dump should cost something.

I guess they COULD do that I guess. What about: Henrique (50%) and Kulikov for the 2023 1st, Coghlan, and like a 4th for Kulikov? Or instead of the 4th a lower end prospect.</div></div>
23 1st 23 or 24 3rd and Coghlan for Rico 50% and Kulikov id be happy with
1st and Coghlan for Rico and 23 or 24 3rd for Kulikov
wonder if there's a different forward prospect instead of Coghlan but that would be the framework I'd like

True but I just think with his experience they should do a 6th and then a possible 5th or 4th if the Canes make it to the Conference Final or the Cup Final.

viable opponent for vasilevskiy only way id be ok with knies deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>NSH fans, genuinely want convo and input. I know Leafs likely add but I think this is a good base. I also think this is really the only thing left that could be done to truly put Toronto over the top, so would be curious if it's even a possibility and just how much more would have to be included. I think what would probably end up happening in a Leafs-Saros deal would be that Niemela also has be included.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>yea thats really all I was shooting for. I think its a lower end offer but its a strong base if that makes sense. I think maybe a Niemela type prospect also ends up in the mix.
Top goalie deals involving any more than a team's #1 prospect and a 1st are rare though. Granted trading a goalie of Saros' calibre is also rare.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bluspy88</b></div><div>Honestly not a horrible starting point as you've acknowledged, and you deserve credit for not absolutely low balling. I would have to think the Predators would want more as we've said. If I was them, I'm looking at 1.) Young forwards (their offense is ROUGH) 2.) Young D and 3.) NHL goalie to fill until they bring up Askarov/back him up.</div></div>
A good comparison I like to make is the Horvat deal. While he is a forward (two different positions) you gotta think we could net a similar return. Horvat got a blue chip prospect, a 1st, and a young roster player. Top end player, top end goalie. Different condiments, same sandwich.
If I'm moving a Vezina caliber goalie under a team friendly deal for the next 3 seasons, I'm asking for no less. The deal would have to really entice me to consider moving him.
But like I said, Knies and a 1st is a good conversation starter but it would likely cost more.

he's a shade of his former self but in a limited role i'd do it , looch is a great teammate and fan favourite , he's still a good player someone just gave him a bad contract

deadline
Why in the world would the Canes trade one if their D making close to league minimum, for a 5th and a forward they don’t need making over $3M?
If CAR takes on Smith, they’re not sending a roster player back and you’re paying a heck of a lot more than a 5th
