<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YeahRighttt</b></div><div>Unlikely that Davidson would target Blankenburg or Jenik. There are plenty of draft picks/prospects in the wings waiting for opportunities . Hawks likely are looking for help in the top 6. Hawks aren’t going to settle for those payments for cap dumps. They are looking to build up not be bogged down by cast offs.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Honestly, not awful. The only thing is, CHI has very little need for more mid and late round picks. I could see CHI obliging these sorts of trades, but insisting that we package together picks and prospects to balance value and trade up for more 1st round picks and early 2nds.

I do think you are correct that CHI fans sometimes ask for too much. But we are also inundated with ridiculous proposals constantly. If you give them an inch, they will take a mile. So, to balance those out and push back on that, we get a bit overboard sometimes. For the most part, though, I think CHI fans have been pretty reasonable with their expectations and arguments. More so than most fan bases.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Well thought out explanations. But sorry, none of this is happening. Hawks are looking to improve their roster for next season. Nothing meaningful added to the forward group except Nazar. Schmidt just blocks Kaiser or DelMastro from getting ice time. And as Garak stated, Kyle from Chicafo likely isn't looking to add more mid round picks. I don't see the Hawks taking on any "bad" contracts that don't net them at least a 2nd.</div></div>
Okay, this is all noted for future :) I didn't think CHI would be quite ready to push the accelerator yet and thus settled for minor improvements, but I fully understand the urge to push for more. Thanks for the input!

OTT missed the window on Thomson having trade value. Mikheyev doesn't necessarily make the hawks better, but I could see him having some success with a change of scenery. I like Sprong, but I doubt Kyle Davidson would be interested in him after his pre-season assault debacle. Regardless of the details and whether he was at fault, controversy is something CHI is trying to steer clear of. Then again, from what I remember, Donato and Sprong played great together in Seattle and I'd be very interested to see if they can re-kindle that chemistry.

I think they need the guys that they already have to take steps, not to insert more guys. What they really need is scoring up front. If they can score more, the confidence will spread to the rest of the roster, and they will win more games. Because a large portion of the games that they lose are pretty close, if they can keep one more goal out of their net and score one more than before on average, they will be in good shape. Playing as a team and having confidence will go a long way too. The gap in talent between bottom feeders and a bubble playoff teams isn't as wide as at is in other sports.

I sort of agree with <a href="/users/YeahRighttt" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@YeahRighttt</a> on bringing in D. But I do still think bringing in someone else to play with Korch could be beneficial, but if it isn't "the right guy", it isn't even worth doing. Not sure Chatfield is the right guy, but it's possible. Murphy just doesn't seem to have the offense to support Korch properly. Murphy is a shutdown Dman, and it is too late in his career to try and mold him into something else.
