DRW2021 4th Pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>Are you predicting the draft order to be:
1. Lafreniere
2. Byfield
3. Stutzle
4. Rossi
If Stutzle is available, I'd take him over Rossi, but if not, then I'd agree with Rossi at #4.</div></div>
I'm not convinced that Byfield is a consensus #2 or #3 pick Rossi's stock has risen quite a bit. I could see Byfield fall to the #4 spot Lafreniere #1 Stutzle#2 Rossi#3 Byfield #4 wouldn't shock me if that happened.

Center Tiers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>Dylan Larkin belongs on the 3rd tier (especially if Dubois and Karlsson are on the list). Positive Corsi, plays against the top lines, awful save percentage behind him,
Ryan Getzlaf probably belongs at the bottom of the 3rd tier (for the same reasons as Larkin). He has a shooting percentage that is a couple of points higher than his career average, which inflates his PDO, but he's a positive Corsi player (barely).
Nico Hischier probably needs some recognition on the 3rd tier, but that may not last forever.
Mika probably needs a bump up the 3rd tier some.
I also think you can make an argument that Draisaitl belongs in the 1st tier.</div></div>
Larkin I just forgot, he deff goes in the third tier.
Getzlaf just doesnt seem to drive the play anymore which is why I would keep him in the fourth tier which is still really good. Hes just slow and I dont see the goals coming anymore
Draisaitl still belongs in the second. I feel like the same with Matthews, Eichel and Barkov as they are all centers who could deff make the first tier but they need to prove it more. I would love to see Draisaitl put up 90 plus points running his own line

Why is all the ACGMs trading away Ras
Because people want instant gratification and think if a former 1st rounder isn't scoring 30 goals by the time he's 20, he's a bust.

Just a thought
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Nope he's pretty much correct here, Helm and Green haven't been put on IR yet. But it's a matter of time before they do. As it sounds like both could be out awhile. This team is once again getting decimated with injuries.</div></div>
Green has been on the IR this season already and hasn't Helm as well.
I saw this on the Athletic in an article on demographics in the NHL by James Mirtle
"The Red Wings, meanwhile, get the award for most 30-plus players, as they incredibly have nine on the roster, including four who are 35-plus. That’s hard to do given there are only 26 across the entire NHL. Steve Yzerman has a lot of work to do getting that group younger and more competitive."

Marner OS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>the best way to put toronto in a tough position is to offer sheet him at 1 year 10.5</div></div>
I don’t think a one year offer sheet is realistic at all. Yes it might be to Marner’s benefit as he gets a one year payday and then another chance at a long term deal if he wants. And yes, it would put the Leafs in a tough spot. But if you were another team, why on earth would you give up two 1sts, a 2nd and 3rd and risk having any other team doing the same thing to you after ONE year of Marner.

Could Tampa fit Panarin Trades with NYR - CAR - FLA - DAL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>1. Doesn't these moves suck the depth out of the team? They used to have 3 strong lines, now TBL would have 2 strong lines, and some maybes on the 3rd and 4th lines. As BOS is showing, you need at least 3 lines (if not all 4) to succeed.
2. That doesn't fix the D (which I believe was the biggest issue this post season). It's still a 1.5 line d-core.
3. Not that it matters much in this scenario, but I think Point is closer to 8.5 than 7.</div></div>
1. I agree with you, adding a big contract would definitely suck the depth out of the team.
In my opinion Tampa this season had 4 strong lines, not three. But this was mainly due to some players on every single line standing out and elevating their linemates game. Players like Palat and Johnson are holding back the line they play on instead of helping it succeed.
2. Absolutely. In fact this was just a mock to see if it would be possible for Tampa to get a top UFA this summer and what would be the outcome. In my opinion BriseBois should target a RHD with some term left on his contract (I'm in love with what Colin Miller could bring + his term and AAV) in order to have one very very solid top 4.
3. Ehh, it depends. This is a bit coming from today's article of TheAthletic, where Lightning's beat writer Joe Smith discusses Brayden Point situation and future contract:
<em>In talking with Point and his agent Gerry Johannson during the season, a few key points came into play. Point’s main priority is staying (and winning) in Tampa Bay, which would require him making it work in Tampa Bay’s cap structure. They’re open-minded when it comes to contract length. That doesn’t mean Point won’t look for the best deal, but there will have to be compromise on both ends to make this work long-term.
“It’s about winning, taxes, quality of life, and where you want to be,” Johannson said. “Players ultimately want to do what they want to do. I always say, ‘The best deal is not always the most money, the best deal is the best deal.”</em>
Time will tell

DRW 2019-2020
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>TBL needs 4 defensemen this offseason, and they have $10mm in cap (with the $3mm bump). By trading them Daley, retaining, and taking back Callahan, that would give them $7mm extra, and a serviceable 5/6 dman. They may graduate 1 guy from the AHL, but they don't have Dmen ready in the AHL, with the exception of Foote (and even that's hit and miss). With Daley, then would need at least 2 dmen (with Foote being his partner) and some cap space to do it.
TBL still has to sign Point (who is going to command at least $7mm minimum), plus reup with Paquette and Erne (who won't cost much). But also find 3 dmen (or 2 if Foote graduates).</div></div>
Your right they do need couple D but if we are sending Daley I don’t see them sending a first back to Detroit. But wouldn’t you have to count Daley as half a defenseman? The guy does make Helm look durable.

Marleau Trade Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TavaresIsALeaf</b></div><div>Didn't the Coyotes trade for Hossa and Datsyuk for this same reason though?</div></div>
Completely different scenario as the Coyotes kept both players in order to help reach the cap floor without actually paying salaries.
There's a few flaws in this scenario which, if I understand correctly...the Leafs are essentially paying the Coyotes two 3rd round draft picks in order to pay $3.125m of Marleau's contract for 1 year...
1. Marleau would need to waive his NMC
2. Arizona ownership would have to value two 3rd round picks more than shelling out $3.125m
3. It's not a legal move under the CBA. A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away for a period of one calendar year, if the trade sending the player back has salary retained in the deal.

Creative 3-way trade prop
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>Pesce wasn't a healthy scratch. He hurt himself during the Detroit game, and sat out the next game in Chicago. He's day to day. Other than that, he's played every game this season, at 19+ minutes per game.
For talent, I think you ask for Slavin over Pesce, Pesce is a really good defensive defenseman, but Slavin is more all round. Carolina won't do it, because it would be removing one of the lefties, and they need to remove a righty.</div></div>
didn't know that
