A Carrier n Dowd Deadline Yr 2
Sens definitely consider, depending on how other things shake out. value is plenty fair, just not sure the Sens are gonna be in position to spend 2M on a (quite good) bottom pair dman

Maroon can be had for a 5th. But I wouldn’t, not after adding Perry, he’s slow enough as it is and Maroon is also slow. Would really ruin the identity of our bottom 6.
Broberg and Tullio is way to much to pay for Duwar. Why you like Duwar so much.

This is the kind of trades that make me laugh. I used to do this back then in nhl games with karlson variations. People should not take this seriously. I love this kind of stuff!

Gallagher and Campbell are pretty close in value. Primeau and Norlinder both have little to no value, adding Bourgault and a 1st from Edmonton is way too much
Allen doesn’t get close to that without retention. Even with retention I doubt it
Monahan gets more
Pearson doesn’t get a 2nd

Whats the cost for these Ceci Replacements
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SupremeBone</b></div><div>I don't think either should be able to garner a 1st in return but I'm curious. I've identified a clear gap in the perception of some here on CF regarding Fabbro's value compared to my own and I'd like to ask: what is it about his play that makes you feel he's worth a 1st? He seems like a pretty standard and unspectacular RD that strikes me as a tag-along for Josi that does little else (tertiary role on the PK, no role on the PP, avg ~17 mins/night). What am I missing?</div></div>
You aren't far off. He is still a solid top 4D man, but is definitely in the shadow of Josi. He is solid in the 2 way game, but doesn't do either offensive d-man or defensive d-man role in an outstanding way, just good, hence the lack of role in both pk and pp. I think Fabbro is probably a bit of a victim of the John Hynes Era in NSH because he has the vision and passing ability and pretty smart with the puck and away from it, but he his skating ability holds him back. With NSH defensive pipeline its very sink or swim, so Fabbro didn't hit it off immediately and has had to claw his way back into good graces. If Fabbro is to be traded I would want a 2nd round pick back or I'd be willing to retain on him to upgrade to a low 1st rounder.

I think this thread has been good, nice to see everyone go deep on establishing their position vs asserting a player’s value and digging their heels in.</div></div>

An argument supporting Monahans value
I like this thread so far. Good discussion.
Others have pointed out the flaw in basing value off of point production considering PP usage, but I also think it’s important to consider team composition and what role a 2C plays.
If your 1C is Patrice Bergeron, a guy who won a billion Selkes, your 2C probably won’t be relied on to play heavy match up minutes.
If you’re a team like Vegas or Carolina that rolls 4 very productive lines: having a formal 2C is less paramount. I’d argue that Karlsson and Stephenson were both 2Cs. And Carolina has like… four 4th lines and somehow it works. There are different ways to build a productive roster.
For a team like Colorado: your 1C is Nathan MacKinnon. Elite offense, but not necessarily the best defensive player. The ideal complementary player is a defensively responsible 2C. Kadri played that role well. Compher is more of a 3C, but he kinda fit that mold.
Monahan is not that type of player. Maybe he could be a fit on a team like Colorado, but I’d argue it’d be more of a 3C scoring role and Colorado would force Colton to be the defensively responsible C you put out to protect a lead in the 3rd period.
I think that’s part of why you see many many Avs fans reject Monahan for a high pick range. Monahan wouldn’t be bad necessarily, but he would come with question marks for Colorado. Maybe another team where his skill set fits their needs better would pay a premium. But for me, I would be disappointed if Colorado did a Monahan for a 1st+ trade.

Not trying to be a d!ck but these are awful for Edmonton, you're overpaying in most of them.
Seriously what is that Cbus trade, those guys are worth like a 3rd each maybe and Boqvist just isn't built for top 4 work by the sounds of it, pretty sure he's been scratched a fair bit this season, probably better off with Ceci.
The only trade I don't mind here is the Caps trade, while it is an overpay, that might be what it takes to get Lindgren cause the Caps don't have a reason to move him.
Way too many good assets sent out for lower end returns which is just awful asset management, the Oilers can't afford to just toss around their best trade chips.
