3rd line help with everyone healthy
Holl isn't going anywhere and probably will be resigned for a team discount to stay with the leafs. Holl as a #6 right now when the leafs are healthy is very solid. Rielly-Liljegren Sandin- Brodie Gio-Holl. Unless they can get a guy like Lyubushkin for cheap the more important need is a power forward for the top 6.

Leafs In October
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Viqsi</b></div><div>Wouldn't do Bjorkstrand for Nylander straight up; Bjorkstrand's our best two-way forward. And Texier looks like he's also going to take on that role, which we need.
Not that such details are relevant, because this is a Kerfoot trade and so is easily automatically rejected like the hundreds (possibly thousands) of other Kerfoot-to-the-Jackets trade proposals Leafs fans have come up with over the past three years.</div></div>
Two way forwards can be picked up in free agency. Young ppg stars like Nylander are usually only available via drafting or trades, so that makes Nylander more valuable than Bjorkstrand.

Yeah lets help Tampa get better by being able to sign all their good young talent and take on their aging, bad contracts for no future pay off. It's like Wings fans forget they're rebuilding.

What weegar actually cost
if its a 1 for 1 Dermott could probs get him. As dermott is younger and has more potential to grow into a solid Panthers defenseman. Weegar had 1 good season so he may fall off in 2021.
If we go 2 for 2 (Kerfoot Dermott) (Weegar Wallmark)

Kyle Dubas needs to be fired
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KakkoForMauriceRichardAward</b></div><div>Yeah they would be but it would make sense because they would still be learning. They’d become cup contenders in 2021-22. Or if they signed JT they needed to move either Willy or Marner</div></div>
Or keep all 3 and have JT like they have done. I suppose it would be much better if they didn't have JT and instead paid the Killorns of the world 5+ million because having 2 of those guys is equal to 1 JT. Spoiler alert not even close. Elite players are so hard to come by and when you have them, you don't let them leave or trade them because you need money to overpay depth guys. Look at the cap situation in Tampa and tell me Dubas didn't do a better job managing his cap then Yzerman, sure he had a couple of years were it'll fit but its not going to last. Next year they are so screwed, either trade all their depth to make space for Cirelli and Sergachev, or lose those guys and just be older and less talented. They can't have it either way due to poor contracts handed to depth guys. Keep in mind, Point is going to need 10+ in 2 years from now as well.

Kyle Dubas needs to be fired
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KakkoForMauriceRichardAward</b></div><div>« The big 4 are paid fairly »
Ok is that why no other team in the NHL pais its top 4 more than 35 million bucks? No one else does that because every other GM understands that it’s a losing strategy
« Anyone who thinks Dubas should be fired is either a troll who just hates the Leafs«
Great, let’s hide behind the « you rightly point out many issues within the team that can’t really be properly fixed because of the big 4 so I’ll just call you a hater ». That’s a nonsense argument that only relies on emotion
« Have patience and don't listen to the idiots on here going off about stuff that isn't real»
Except signing JT forced them to compete for the SC when they weren’t ready for that, far from that, it rushed the rebuild and they have bad consequences ever since.</div></div>
All of that is just nonsense. Use Edmonton as an example, they pay 2 players over 20 million dollars, are they the problem their? Crosby and Malkin got a higher percentage of the cap when they signed their last deals than Matthews and JT have, are they the problems there? Kane makes 10.5 and is he the problem in Chicago? The answer to all that is no. Stars getting paid isn't ever a problem. Look at teams in a bad cap situation that aren't good teams and its never their best players that are the problem, its too much money in the hands of secondary players that is the problem. The leafs do not have that problem. People like you said Kapanen was going to get 5+ million when his ELC was over, the Leafs didn't and wouldn't give him that kind of money because he isn't worth it.
The notion the Leafs defence sucks is also not very correct, they had poor goaltending this past year, fired their coach who wanted them to play a system that just didn't work and their new coach had to deal with losing 3 of their top 6 players at the same time. How good do you think Tampa would be if they lost Hedman and McDonaugh for an extended period? Judging from how they performed when Hedman was hurt at the end of last season and wasn't healthy in the first round, not well.
But its always fun to ignore all that, blame a guy who's been on the job for less than 2 seasons and had to clean up the mess Lou left him with, all the while having a very young team deal with a coach that berates more than he teaches. Garbage arguments, all of what you said. None of it is emotions, its logic and facts. Emotion is hating the team and enjoying pissing off their fans.

Only way Cirelli and Sergachev get traded
1. I guess you are too young to remember the Muskoka 5?
2. It's not just about a player waiving their NTC, it's about them having a say where they want to go. The more restrictions a team has in moving a player the harder it becomes to move that player. No guarantee teams on the "OK" list have interest or capspace to acquire that player.
3. This is real life for the players, if Tampa is where they want to live the rest of their life, they're family is rooted there, etc. it's no automatic they are willing to waive/help the team move them.
4. I'm thinking you'd be surprised by the amount of trades that get vetoed by a player.

Ellis
Never trade cost certain high end youth for expensive contracts for players leaving their prime. Ellis has had a tonne of injuries and is getting paid for what he did in his prime, it won't hold up. Nylander on the other hand still has his best years to come and proved he could be a point a game player. THE LEAFS DON'T NEED A RIGHT HANDED DEFENCEMAN AT ANY COST.

Pietrangelo signs bridge deal - 3rd line dies
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>I believe he is thinking short term deal due tonthe flat cap. I don't think he is wrong.
Too many teams are gonna be up against it.
If he signs in Toronto, the 3rd line looks more like a 4th line and the 4th line is the Marlies first line. See above. Winnipeg maybe in slightly better shape to compete, but they have no money left to fill a roster out. Vancouver will cap themselves out next year. Just looking at poosible fits.
I will not disagree he is worth $8-9 million per, but the money isn't there, outside of three teams, to support a larger deal.
People: the flat cap is going to have an effect on this UFA class. They will kot get the money they would have if the cap went up $2 million.
I say it's wishful thinking of Pietrangelo thinks ge is gettong his payday from a contender. If he wants what he is worth, I will personally throw up a welcome sign on the 417 saying "Welcome to Ottawa Alex!"</div></div>
I've been saying this sort of thing since the shutdown of these leagues. People on capfriendly have their blinders on regarding COVID-19.
Interestingly, I was listening to an interview about why the NHL wants to complete this season and the thing most people don't know is that in some of the regional deals the NHL signed with networks stipulates that said team must play a minimum of 70 games (every deal is different and some go as high as 75 games) and so when we hear about the NHL returning...it's not just about the return as much as it is about losing possibly more $$$ than people realize.
I absolutely think UFAs will be affected by COVID-19 in that they will not get as much money as pre-COVID-19.

Tampa bay fans I found your solution thank me later
I can see Sergachev and Cirelli taking bridge deals to stay in Tampa but what you have here depends on Gourde and Johnson waiving their NTC’S and LA and Chicago wanting them which doesn't seem likely, I doubt any team will want either of those two unless they're compensated well to take them but who knows, I didn't think Goodrow and Coleman would get traded for 1st round picks and that happened so anything is possible I guess.. Lol

Nylander
That's a hard pass.
1. Nylander on the market is worth at least a #3 defensman (which that would equate a Fox type.
2. Georgiev is worth less right now because of a flooded goaltnding market - have a look at what is out there. Potential buyouts may flood it more.
3. Leafs already have a backup tender. I hear he is pretty good.
4. Sheshterkin not only stole the back up roll, but the #1 job. Isn't even close to a debate either. Georgiev's value is affected by this fact.
5. Two guys named Woll and Scott..... looking rather solid in their own right.
6. NO team moves a 70 point winger for a split time goalie.

leafs 2020-21 final solution
<a href="/users/Ledge_And_Dairy" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Ledge_And_Dairy</a> I also think Manson is replaceable and the trade value in a way does match but they give us the wrong tools ya dig? If we are gonna give him up with two years left on his contract we better get something to help us in the future and any asset the leafs offer us that is reasonable doesn't help unless its draft picks and Liljegren.
I don't take Drysdale's value lightly but he wont be nhl ready in 1-2 years? And we have no RD in the system. I just don't see the need to accept this trade for the value in return.

I understand you're not a ducks fan. Probably don't focus on them too much. Cant Balme you especially considering how we played the last two years but these players and proposals do nothing for our future. Like I said this can happen on this contract year but with 2 years left Drysdale or not we are better off keeping him. No need to get rid of our best RD(sad to say that) for top 6/top9 guys when we can have 18-23 yo in our system play. Kerfoot is worse imo he will take mins away from those we need to develop. Plus, we have two other guys who fill his role in Henrique and Silfverberg.</div></div>
Im also not a leafs fan and have been a major defender in Manson going to the leafs needing to involve Liljegren. As for finding a replacement for Manson, I think its less difficult then you think. Ofc I think its very important that Drysdale be drafted first, but LA was able to fill holes this year with a guy like Hutton to stopgap their rebuild
