<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>Dallas declines. Would rather keep the 24-year old through the upcoming rebuild/retool than trade for a 30-year old that we'd likely trade away at some point during said rebuild/retool. The Stars are about to hit a phase where they have to get younger.
Losing Pavelski & Radulov helps, but with guys like Bourque, Dellandrea, and Stankoven either NHL ready or within a couple years of being NHL ready, it would be much more beneficial for them to keep a younger, cost-controlled Gurianov than for them to trade for a 30-year old Rust that is honestly probably a middle-6 guy in Dallas.
Straight up skill-for-skill, right now Rust may have the edge on Gurianov (and I’m not 100% convinced of that), but look at who he's playing with. He is consistently playing with Crosby and Guentzel, which is a pretty good indication that his stats are inflated a bit. Gurianov's most frequent linemates? Jason Dickinson & Jamie Benn. Get Gurianov linemates like Hintz, Robertson, Bourque, and Seguin (which all should be options at some point this season) and Gurianov's production goes up significantly. Even with the lacking linemates, he still already has a season where he led Dallas in goal scoring. Yeah, I don't see Dallas moving him in the kind of deal you have laid out here.</div></div>
I prob agree, Ive been trading for Gurianov since all DAL fans were calling him a Bust & love the kid. IMO, he could be a legit superstar in right situation.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed Danton Heinen (1 Year / $1,100,000 AAV)
I like the player & a solid 3rd to 4th liner but in an off-season we needed to make improvements .....
So far McGinn, Erod, & Heinen is a BIG downgrade from McCann, Tanev, & Ceci
Hextall needs to make 3-4 Trades to even get this team better, I just dont think he has it in him.
Looks like another 1 and done (hopefully)

New Front Office is Scaring me- Mario offers me GM job again- I finally accept
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>There is no way I'm trading all of that for sinko.
His injury issues are a problem. 3 shoulder surgeries in 3 years. No.
I could see Seattle selecting him and taking a gamble on him because he could be an elite forward, if not he's on IR so there is little risk when you get him for free.
But there is 0 chance I'm giving up assets for that.
I don't have an issue with them moving McCann. I do think it's possibly part of a larger deal though.
Either way McCann was not getting it done. The playoffs were the last straw. 6 games what 1 assists or something. He got outplayed by Gaudreau on the RW.
It's not like anyone can say he had no help. He did. Both Carter and Gaudreau played very well that series. But he was a no show.....again.
It was far to common of a theme with him. Change has to happen somewhere. I hope that change is to bring in a tougher more skilled winger in Poulin. at 3LW.
Honestly, it's very hard to lay blame on a lot of this team. They had an inexperienced goalie. Who will learn from the mistakes.
They had their top 2 lines not perform well. But you had Malkin out there playing on an injured knee.
They need to do better as far as staying on their skates, which means they need to add some size. They also need to be more physical on the blue line and actually stand people up.
But a large part of that is on Sully and his bs version of hockey. Something has to give.
Truth is there should have been a sit down at this point with management and the coach. The conversation has to revolve around changing the system. Which clearly doesn't work.
They need to stop the dump and chase which has low success rates and carry the puck in more. They need to stop playing on the boards and move that puck around cycling more. They have tried to build this system of Sid grinding out with the puck. But it's hard to win that game when the biggest person on the line is 5'11. It has to change if the first line is going to be Jake, Sid and Rust.
They need to change their team defense. They need to stand guys up at the blue line instead of letting them skate in. They need to play the man more than the puck The goal in game 5 or 6 (I forget which one) was a huge example of that. He just skated right down the boards and right to the net. No one flattened him and put him into the boards. It cost them the game. Two quick passes and it was over.
That's not on the player as much as it's on the coach. There needs to be some changes. If we can't get those changes, they are going to be a 1st round exit again no matter who you bring in. Because the other team will always know they can skate right in and no one will lay a finger on them.
The other teams have no problem making that play on our 5'10 wingers and making them pay the price for going down that wall and taking them out the play. But Sully can't seem to figure out that Hockey is suppose to be played that way.
I think this year is it for him. Should have been last year to be honest. But this year has to be the final straw with him. If he refuses to change. By midseason he needs to be removed. As we don't need another wasted year.</div></div>
What would u Trade for Sanko?
I kno u prob kno how much I loved McCann bc I was always trading for him bf we had him but that made me scared that this front office does not value Players just coming in their prime, kind of scary.

Shoulder are not that big of a deal, Ive had 4 shoulder surgeries, 2 of them where everything was torn & I'm perfectly fine and still lifting more than ever. Still Training and fighting.

I was happy with the Carter Trade but now I am scared to death that they do not value a player like McCann after the season he had, Then again as bad as the Pens look, the leafs look even worse by letting SEA take him bc he could have been a star there. McCann works so great off of other skilled guys & could have been a steal there.
Ive been watching McCann since Jrs w/ SSM & he looked like the star in JRs for the 1st time in NHL last yr.
Id put money on him turning into Karlsson 2.0 in SEA.
