<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jacobla</b></div><div>papi shark continues to demonstrate irritability by criticizing posts without offering any insight whatsoever.

using doms player cards frm the athletic. From a GSVA standpoint the trade is very fair.

Kane worth 2.5 wins

Puljujarvi worth 2.6 wins
Kassian worth -0.1 wins
Foegele worth 0.3 wins.

Total incoming to san jose 2.8 wins and 2 younger players who can help their team for years.
total outgoing from san jose 2.5 wins and 1.5 mil cap space for 3 yrs.

Oilers get the older but more physical player for mcdavids wing and some cap flex to ensure they can sign a tendy</div></div>

This is not a trade you can approach from a wins perspective. This is a cap deal through and through. What you are asking the sharks to do is take on an extra .45 in cap for two years (not including Puljijarvi because he’s actually worth a caphit) , then have another 1.45 for the last year.

The point of trading Kane is cap relief for the years of his deal. If we aren’t gaining any cap relief we won’t be trading him.

Kane won’t be put back on the sharks, but if he was, a fairish deal to me could include one of Kassian or Foegele, or we could retain 50% on Kane, but you aren’t getting even 2 of the 3 because that gives the sharks zero incentive to do the deal and we would rather stick him in the AHL or buy him out.

The guy who made this rumour up is clearly just speculating and he’s only considering from his teams point of view, as any sharks insider would say it’s laughable at best.
