<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NucksnOilers</b></div><div>I'm not saying the Pens say yes either, they can get a much stronger return elsewhere. Campbell costs one first to dump, his buyout never surpasses 2.75 million and it stays under 1.75 million for 3 of the 5 years. That doesn't cost two firsts.
So then it would be Mcleod + broberg + 25'1st + 25'3rd for JG and AN. I don't want JG for his price, he's a super valuable asset it's just that Edmonton doesn't need another top 6 piece. He would only be a rental as well. Mcleod is also essentially an untouchable for this team so yeah</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Timmah007</b></div><div>Who cares if Campbell is included. Only thing coming back of note is a top six forward for a few months. That doesn’t justify multiple firsts and two quality young players.</div></div>

Clearing Campbell’s contract=1st
Ned=mccleod
Tbh tho I don’t see Pit bringing in another big goalie contract… unless we’re completely rebuilding and saying Blomqvist is the next guy and in that case we’d move Jarry out too…
So while I think the package is close to fair in value objectively, the fit isn’t the best overall…

Definitely close on trade value but i'd prefer all prospects/picks/under-24 players on the cusp instead of Kuzmenko and i don't see VAN wanting to move Kuzmenko. i'd rather retain 50% on Jake and with double retention Jake would be at $1.5M.
that being said, if i'm dubas and pittsburgh, then i would take Kuz and let him play with Sid/Geno and PP1 then flip him in the offseason or next year at the TDL... so i'm ok with either... i just don't see keeping jake at this point... the pens have lost like 7 of 10 and barring extreme improvements in several areas i don't see this team making the playoffs unfortunately...

They need to be considering a young longterm center upgrade as clearly glass is a failure</div></div>
This doesn't make sense for NSH.
<a href="/users/gpmack95" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@gpmack95</a> bro why take a logical trade from another post and ruin it lol? like NSH can't afford to move Novak in this deal... if they're going for it, they aren't moving significant pieces from their current roster... plus this trade is skewed heavily to PIT... and if PIT is getting a 4th piece back besides Tomasino/1st/2nd then PIT probably is including another roster player to help NSH's playoff push...

One of the better Guentzel offers I've seen on CF... a trade like this ultimately comes down to how much Dubas and Co. would like Tomasino as opposed to other Young players that would be offered... but the 1st/2nd is a good starting point... I wouldn't complain at all if that was the return...

don't see this making sense for either team a lot... if WPG is trying to go for it, they would not subtract significant pieces off their current roster... and PIT is not thinking about moving Pettersson... guentzel is the easy one IF and ONLY IF the pens fall out of it big time... Pettersson may be moved in the offseason or at next year's TDL if the team is deciding to do a massive retool bordering on rebuilding... the only thing that could possibly happen to change the Pens minds and path forward from what I just said would be a pair of season-ending injuries to Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang... those 2 players are the only 2 irreplaceable players on the pens roster right now and subtracting them would alter the course for this year dramatically....

If you are bringing in a guy who makes 6 mil to a cap strapped team you are going to have to give some money back. First he's not contributing much, been healthy scratched as we know and his place on the PP and top 6 would be taken by Guentzel anyway.</div></div>
then with that being said, I think PIT can retain half on Jake which would put him at 3M (if a third team came in then he's down to 1.5M... which we saw at last year's TDL...) either that or it's a 3 way trade in the sense that pit takes whatever piece VAN sends their way and flips that for whatever...

The best thing long term for the penguins franchise would be to lose some tight games in the next month and fall out of the playoff picture and flip guentzel for a 1st plus a good prospect maybe more depends on how many teams get involved… this does not mean PIT could not resign Jake in the off-season but if we were to trade him I doubt we would… obviously I’d hate to see guentzel leave, he would be a great career penguin, if he stayed in PIT till retirement no one would complain but the sooner the pens start trying to be terrible again and start building for the future the better the next era of penguins hockey will turn out

Smith to LTIR
I had a ACGM a bit ago where I looked at pretty much every player that could help us on bad teams with a low cap hit (apologies my phrases are out of order) but I think of someone like Taylor Raddysh from CHI or Pat Maroon from MIN if we want a checking line forward
(((From my old post my complete list:
Centres- Nick Dowd, Oscar Sundqvist, Michael Pezetta, Travis Boyd
Wingers- Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Sammy Blais, Eeli Tolvanen, Brandon Duhaime, Ryan Hartman, Pat Maroon, Emil Bemstrom, Alexandre Texier, Boris Katchouk, Taylor Raddysh, Adam Ruzicka, Aj Greer, Dillon Dube (only with over 50% retention), Michael Carcone, Liam O'Brien
Defensemen- Dakota Mermis, Zach Bogosian, Adam Boqvist, Nick Seeler, Travis Dermott, Sean Durzi, Troy Stetcher
https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4733914
)))
Obviously some of those teams may not sell… the pens have been linked to Michael Bunting of CAR who Dubas had in TOR but to fit his cap we’d have to move smith either LTIR him until the playoffs or trade him…
Also I saw a rumour regarding Ilya Lybushkin from ANA who dubas also had for a short time…

I won't argue ned had a rough couple years but to be fair that was playing behind a terrible team that had a horrible team defence... but he was great in CAR and has been great in PIT... so if he plays behind a team that isn't horrible he should be just fine...
