My understanding is that if bought out his hit is $1mm in 24 and $2mm in 25, but if he’d buried his hit this year would be $3.9mm? I think with the major signings this year that $2.9 would be critical.</div></div>
Yeah it's 2M 25-26 (which really doesn't matter) and 3,8M next season when buried (which doesn't matter either, as they're not doing any big signings this summer, stated by GMDB), as York, Foerster, Cates and probably TK gets their raise for 25-26 season. I'd just rather bury Petersen, Atkinson, Johansen now and start with clean table 25-26.

Maybe?
I think the Sabres would consider it
But i could also see us wanting to keep that pick

Sabres could be interested in something like that
But we can’t trade Krebs unless we are getting a Center back,
bc that would take us down to only having Thompson & Cozens
And please don’t suggest Laughton
After last season, i can’t see our Analytics Dept signing off on him
Maybe Cates?

7 for 12 and 32 is fair value according to puckpedia. Philly might need to overpay a tiny bit tho to move into the top 10

You don't eat the Shark, you jump it. 😀
No need to retain on Atkinson, the Sharks have tons of cap space. Just give us a pick to dump his contact. No 6th going the other way. If he won't waive you could always waive him like Goodrow...

Calling Laughton "scraps" is laughable. Fans of other teams don't wont to admit it but players like Laughton are highly valued by GM's around the league and several teams have been trying to pry him away from Philly since last summer. This is also a weak draft and Briere said today they have a very clear top 5 in this draft and after that who knows how it could go. This is similar to what has been reported for some time about his draft so the move from 12 to 7 isn't as drastic or valuable as a lot of years. I wouldn't even consider moving Laughton and 12 for 7. I would rather have a late first round pick which the Flyers turned down for Laughton last summer.

He would go to the Rangers with his buddy Igor.

And if the Wild were smart the bidding war would start before this years TDL before his NMC kicks in and they lose even more leverage—unfortunately, past tends to dictate future with these things. You’ll get a couple firsts for him in two years—the deal above is actually quite good for you in comparison!</div></div>
IF the deal is so great, Why do you want to give up the prospects/Picks?
Your team will NEVER get Kaprizov.
Now GFY moron.

Just Hypothetical honestly I could see the flyers wanting two picks around 11-12. Some scouts are unsure if Catton will become a 1C in the NHL and have him more as a winger. I think the flyers love Yakemchuk but personally I think he goes in the top 10. Buium also may go top 10. I don't know enough on Dickinson. Zegras would be a skill guy to play with Michkov. Coots is aging and Frost is unproven so far, I could see them wanting to load up on potential centers.

Realistically I expect something like that for Chych, though I'd hope they could squeeze the FLA 1st this year instead of the ANA 2nd next year~ I'm also curious your thoughts on Atkinson? Was he not that good this year?

You have picks on wrong side in Flyers trade and they would still decline every single player except Jarnkrok maybe for a late pick if they trade Laughton. And yes I get it that they're not meant to be a package. But maybe some other team bites.

He's not a rental. He's got one full year left and will be traded somewhere he's willing to extend if he is moved. The value of the pick isn't the issue, the issue is it doesn't meet a need. Try debating the actual post next time instead of changing it to what you want it to be.
If you want the TDL price, you'll need to wait until the TDL. Buffalos pick is 11, so it isn't top 10, so you did learn something today!

No they wouldn't - dropping from 7 to 12 isn't a crazy drop in talent but they pick up a big physical shutdown D and a very good creative winger. They still get one of the high end prospects (top 14/15 are a tier above everyone else) and get better depth.
Plus if they truly have their eyes on 1 they can package 12 and 25 and move right back to as high as 8 OA based on pick values (12/25 is actually more valuable than 8 as per Puckpedia)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AnonymousSensFan</b></div><div>Lol. It's fine being hyped for a prospect, but Kaprisov and Kucherov are some of the best scorers in the league. How about waiting for Michkov to play an NHL season before claiming that he'll be better than both?
Fact is, some players can be outstanding in other leagues and end up not being able to put it together in the NHL, the toughest league. Or, maybe he'll get injured and it will impact his career. Until he proves it, he isn't worth more than Kaprisov, even including age. Kaprisov's contract isn't obscene for a 40+ goal scorer and he's already doing that in the NHL.
Seriously though, Kucherov just put up nearly 150pts, and you're claiming a prospect with a good D+1 year will be better? I don't even feel comfortable saying that Bedard will put up that point total.</div></div>
You don't feel comfortable because your haven't scouted them for 3 years im not guaranteeing he will be better but everything indicates that he can be. Sure we need to see him in the NHL to have a real idea but given his ability and age with how cap management and protected status ties into value, yeah I do think Michkov has more value especially to rebuilding teams like Philly and Minnesota

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Paulacacac</b></div><div>We could be looking back a few years from now and see that Philly’s best trade for Laughton was to move up to get Helenius, Iginla, Lindstrom or Catton in the “Michkov’s Center” draft. That’s what this draft is about—Flyers are not projected to have a better overall pick next year, and good centers in this league are at an absolute premium atm. A top 6 winger will be easier to find through UFA.</div></div>
Funny that you say that about their projected pick next year - every single article I read about next year projects them as a bottom 10 team.
I guess we'll see what Torts can pull out of his ass in year 2 of the rebuild.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JIG19146</b></div><div>Every fan on this site - including you (and me) - inflates the value of its favorite team's players. Fans overvalue their favorite team's prospects even more so. From an outsider's perspective, the Sabres are in a really interesting place this offseason. They've been building for over a decade and they have a good young roster and a strong prospect pipeline, but they have nothing to show for any of it yet. They won't have room on the roster for all of their prospects and short term future picks. This feels like an inflection point for the organization to get aggressive and cash in some chips to achieve some actual on-ice results this season. The Flyers just make a lot of sense as a trade partner.</div></div>
Here's where I fall on the prospect situation: the sabres should cash in and trade a few of their prospects, but they only should do that if they are getting fair value. They shouldn't just be trading them because they have a plethora of talent.
