Description

Flyers need around $15mm this year to sign TK, Chychrun, York, Frost, Foerster, and Cates.

Petersen: buyout frees up $2.9mm more than burying, w $2mm hit next season when cap jumps—need the money more this year imo to re-sign everyone.

Columbus keeps 2025–deeper draft, they’ll be top 5 again.

Atkinson: just following the rumors. I think there is almost no chance he is a flyer—either buyout or trade. Buyout adds $3.5mm to this years cap, and his hit is only $1mm next year, good deal but sad, would much rather trade him and retain the $2.5ish difference.

No need to retain on Atkinson, the Sharks have tons of cap space. Just give us a pick to dump his contact. No 6th going the other way. If he won't waive you could always waive him like Goodrow...

so OTT trade the most valuable pick and most valuable player for what? a 3rd liner that is worst than joseph, 31/32nd OA and a C prospects and moves down 5 spots.. staios would be fired if he went to audlauer with this proposal

Do I have it wrong? My understanding is that if bought out his hit is $1mm in 24 and $2mm in 25, but if he’d buried his hit this year would be $3.9mm? I think with the major signings this year that $2.9 would be critical.

Yeah it's 2M 25-26 (which really doesn't matter) and 3,8M next season when buried (which doesn't matter either, as they're not doing any big signings this summer, stated by GMDB), as York, Foerster, Cates and probably TK gets their raise for 25-26 season. I'd just rather bury Petersen, Atkinson, Johansen now and start with clean table 25-26.
