crazier things have happened, the McDavid effect is a strong one. If bert was asked if he'd waive for the oilers , might be too good to say no to. Especially since the leafs could be out of the playoffs if they don't play more consistently

It's hockey, he's a hockey player. It's what they do.
My thought was at least he'd be waiving to go play with McDavid & company. And it'd only be for the rest of this year/playoffs.

😂 engagement? Yes, that's the point of this site no?
You guys really gotta read the description more often, this was just a thought. I wanted to get the temperature on the idea from the Detroit side really(was a Detroit fan as a kid) and as a jackets fan trading Werenski or Jenner is the last thing I want to see happen, but it's a business. if a team made an offer like this one I'd expect management to at least think it over.

Again I hate to say it, but man, he would be PERFECT for Carolina...and IF he had to go somewhere I would be less mad about it if it was there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Basically would you trade Fantili for Larkin? That is basically how we feel about it, obviously different comparables but this is the idea. Teams rather gamble on their top picks I think, at least until they have proved something.</div></div>
I see what your saying, I'd only say the teams are going in different directions atm and for the next few years. So if Larkin was 26yrs old like Werenski and we were trying to make moves in the playoffs , it'd be something to at least weigh out

I absolutely hate to say it but Boone Jenner would be the best guy for Carolina to go for. He would fit that team so well.
Would cost alot though and I hope Jenner never gets traded but eh, it happens

Yeah I totally get that. These young top prospects are the hardest to let go, even for a pro like Werenski. And the cap sure would require some finessing to make it work, good point.

I mean sure almost everything in this site is a joke lol
but atleast when acquiring a #1 dman like Werenski it's going to cost ya , especially when they have term over their entire prime years.

Id really like to see Detroit make a significant move like this one. They're really due for some success and Zach is locked up for his prime years. Would be huge. Elvis also playing better then husso, has term to buy time for cossa in about 2-3years.
Laine, Chicago needs to get someone to play with bedard and after a few seasons riding shotgun Laine could be worth a lot if traded (or re-sign him) and they've got the cap space.

I'd say it's pretty agreed upon that he's expected to be a top pair defenseman and Is a very recent 6th overall pick. These guys don't come along often, let alone the ability to trade for one at his age. They're not cheap.
Time to get up off the floor.

Absolutely not.
Jackets will do EVERYTHING possible to keep jiricek.
IF for some reason they determine he needs to be traded, he's bringing back a top 5 pick or an elite prospect at minimum.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>Why is that exactly...</div></div>
To start with Liljgren is better and more productive then dumba , then there's the age difference and quite simply Liljgrens ceiling hasn't even been reached yet. He has top pairing guy written all over him with time.
Leafs got good asset for sandin but pulled the trigger much to early on moving him as well. Don't need to make the same mistake

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>So a 3rd liner, 3rd pairing guy and a backup? Ooooo!
Bundling mediocre rental assets together doesn't get you to a 1st round pick + a top prospect. You might not think Broberg is a top prospect, but then why trade for him? Edmonton still values him highly, and he's playing a dominant 2-way game in the AHL right now (something like 70% GF).</div></div>
Like I said above, the picks could be off by Abit.(don't think they have a 2nd?)
But yes, these are the types of players a team trying to shore up the roster for a push through the playoffs acquire. They don't come free unfortunately.
Broberg I tossed in here because the leafs need dmen more then forwards, and if he's still considered a top prospect after 5 years of not making the team...then maybe the oilers need to keep him due to a lack of drafted talent, yikes.

I was mainly going off how his style of play looked decent last year with the bruins.
Yes he's absolutely overpaid and that is a hurdle but I see him fitting right in for the bruins.(3rd/4th role)
Just looked, 28 games total for bruins and 26pts, not bad.
