No, it's not... Beating bad teams and losing in RD 3 when you actually have to play a good one doesn't equal playoff success

Micheal Bunting got 63 points one season playing with Matthews and Marner, if Knies gets those L1 minutes, he could get 70 (and yes, Knies&gt;Bunting bc Knies can actually draw a penalty)

And what about the difference between Klingberg and Holl? And I <strong>love</strong> ROR, but Domi had a better playoffs this past year, which is the goal here... The Leafs upgraded their playoffs supporting cast... And Toronto was the only Atlantic team that made the playoffs to not really lose anyone major (ROR counts but he was injured for half of the time he was with the Leafs)</div></div>

This is just bad for Toronto in totality. When you add in the fact that you're basically acquiring Myers to dump him the first two trades break down to:

TOR GETS: Conor Garland (50% retained), Nils Hoglander, 2024 1st
TOR LOSES: TJ Brodie, Timothy Liljegren, Calle Jarnkrok, Nick Abruzzese, 2024 3rd, 2024 7th.

Seems like a LOT to pay to clear some extra cap. I'd also argue that the first deal doesn't make a ton of sense for Vancouver, since the retention on Garland basically means they're paying $4.5M for Calle Jarnkrok over the next 3 years. And while I won't disagree that Liljegren has the potential to be worth a 1st, I don't see Vancouver being the team to pony that up when we're merely 6 months removed from them paying a 1st rounder for Filip Hronek. Finally, I'd argue that to them there really should be no material difference between Myers and Brodie besides cap hit - they're stuck in the mushy middle and the upgrade from one to the other doesn't get them out of it.
