COL gets Bozak and then nothing worth noting for the present. Leivo is a fringe player at best, Sparks has shown nothing to suggest he will be of use in the NHL yet, Percy and Harrington must clear waivers and are RFA's. Not to mention they are not NHL ready, nor should a team expect them to be. They are depth pieces.

Not sure Colorado wants to move Pickard for that. It's a quantity for quality type deal. Bozak certainly has some value, but his salary here makes it a tough deal for COL.</i></div></div>
The point is using assets we will lose to waivers to get a piece with some value. I do think colorado will be in the market for a center they have nothing really beyond McKinnon and Duechene. I could see Duechene being Traded for a top 4 dman Maybe to Minnesota for Brodin, and Kruemper with SPARKS being added to the trade. Or even flipping Bozak for a Dman.</i></div></div>

No I get the point. But there needs to be two to tango. COL will not be wanting scraps. Also not sure they want a 3C making what Bozak makes. I'd even argue they'd be better with Soderberg playing the middle again.</i></div></div>
Fair enough you know all but one man's scraps could be someone else's meal. Lievo could be sold depth and Like I just said this could give them assets to trade for what they need without giving up their core but anyways like I said like always you think I'm a dumb ass your king **** without actually reading the comment.

Bibeau's not good; his rebound control's abysmal and I wouldn't mind seeing him sent to the ECHL permanently. I think Sparks proved this year that he needs a lot more seasoning. He isn't ready to play as an NHL backup. I think Sparks still has promise to be a backup but probably not for another couple of years at least. Kasimir Kaskisuo is the better athlete of the three goalies but we haven't seen enough of him to assume anything. Next year for him should be interesting. Also in my post, I made it clear that I would have changed Carrick's contract considering that he likely signs for more. I initially figured that term would entice him to sign for below market value.

Leafatic:

I definitely wouldn't cycle Bibeau and Sparks as backups next year. Neither (especially Bibeau) is close to ready for any NHL backup time. I do, however, agree with you regarding Pickard. The reason I chose Malcolm Subban is because Tuuka Rask has a NMC so it'll probably be easier to make a trade for Subban than with Colorado for Pickard. The Leafs would probably have to give up a player like Soshnikov or Connor Brown for Pickard. I would still make that trade but it would most likely cost the team more in assets.

With Bozak, I just think the money is hard for any team to take, so instead of retaining any salary, I think the leafs will have to move from their 2nd round for Bozak stance and accept a 3rd. There's no room for Bozak on the Leafs which puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to making trades that include him.

I think Holland can fit in as a depth player for Pitt, and again, we simply don't have room for him since it's very unlikely we're able to move either Michalek, Greening, or Laich in the summer.</i></div></div>
What I was saying was trade Sparks that way there is more playing time for Bibeau and Kasmir. I do think Bibeau had a rough series against Hershey but overall he looked good through the season. Sparks might have lost his confidence and might need a fresh start some where's else to get it back. But Bibeau and Kasmir could be a good AHL pairing next year and could play some NHL games next year for injury or to get playing time

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div><i><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafatic</b></div><div><i>Well First Loov is going to be a solid depth dman in this league physical does very few stupid things with the puck. so he will be someone who probably never be a special talent but a solid 6/7 dman for the next 5 years or more. I had concerns in taking Vanek but my thought is that if he truly wants to prove he is a team player and not a team cancer Mike Babcock can do that and that will help him have a better contract in a year. Also, minn could be trade Scandalla but they are in win now mode and he is probably part of the solution where dumba is not going to get the ice time to truly develop with the depth they have on D.</i></div></div>

I have the same feelings about Vanek and BB (whom should use him properly). I think the Wild will move a Brodin/Scandella/Spurgeon before Dumba (unless someone overpays a lot), so he'll get top-4 minutes. Wild have Olosson, Reilly, Folin, Prosser already fighting for 6/7 D. A good FWD prospect would probably go further. But I'm past my depth anymore on this trade.</i></div></div>
Well there's risk in trading one of those three D if your in win now mode I think it will come down to your new coach and what he wants more proven D or potential upside. I could see us putting brown or Leivo into the trade seeing they have nhl talent but might be in tough to make our roster due to the young depth in their roles but will probably have to be our 2nd instead which won't be a huge drop.
