<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>I think so too. Making some "buying" trades Like Buchnevich keeps the window open next year. Especially when STL is willing to take on 50% of the contract.</div></div>
The problem that is obvious to all Penguins fans is that Sullivan has sucked this season yet still has a job. So if they cared about competing, he would have been fired months ago. Rutherford as GM would have fired him months ago unless ownership prevented it. So if they wanted to compete, that is step #1. Otherwise, all these other moves mean nothing. They didn't do that which tells me and all other PIT fans that they have no interest in competing. So don't try making contradictory decisions or it will make everything worse. They're sellers this year so sell everything that maximizes value.

Way too late. Already wasted this season keeping Sullivan and coaching staff with the worst PP in the Crosby era.

LMAO
If VAN trades for him with an extension in place AND take on Mikheyev it's going to cost you a lot more.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>I looked at the Caps roster and the right side is getting up there in age so I thought Pionk would be a good add. Also Pionk needs to be in a different system and I think he would be a different player. He has shown signs of being a really solid offensive dman but not with Rick Bowness. I always remember TVR being a really solid reliable dman. I think he would allow Heinola the freedom to do his thing.</div></div>
I hear you and I agree the right side is old, but I think they’re more likely to just ship out a guy like Jensen or TVR, let Bear get full time minutes, then bring up Iorio next year (RHD drafted in 2021).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Correct. It was Kotkaniemi and Necas.
Speaking of that, as a Canes fan what were your thoughts on that reported trade and then finding out what Petey ended up signing the extension for? As a person living in Vancouver and follow the Canucks because of where I live I was hoping that the Canucks would get these 2 players for Petey.</div></div>
On one hand, I'm disappointed that we got so close to landing a superstar and couldn't get it done. EP40 is one of my favorite players not on the Canes and it would've been incredible to have him. However, I'm also happy that Don Waddell was willing to make a big offer and swing for the fences.
Ultimately, it takes two to tango, and it seemed like EP40 never really had any intention of leaving Vancouver. He was just using the threat of leaving and dragging out of his contract negotiations to get a better deal.

Ehlers is one of the most underappreciated players in the entire NHL. That being said, too much for the Canes.
Also Pesce is not signing for a Canadian team and is not signing for that little.

Yeah the contract is long so PIT would either have to take a sizeable contract back or retain for several years which would drive up the price for WPG

Never happening
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Yeah if I'm the NJD Nemec isn't going anywhere unless I'm getting something similar in value for him but right now that isn't going to happen. So yeah I agree Nemec is untouchable. But I thought I was reading somewhere that Mercer was falling out of favour in NJD. That might have just been some clowns on this site speculating and not actual factual.
I really hope that Samberg isn't available to teams. I know everyone is replaceable but Samberg has really turned into the player I thought he was going to be. I also think that there is more to his game than what he is already doing. He is unfortunately on a team that values the veteran guys instead of guys with talent and can make the team better. There is no way that Samberg should be playing less minutes than Dillion or Pionk.</div></div>
Mercer is a core piece here. Plays center, wing. Plays PP, PK. Plays any line. Plays in dirty areas. Never takes a shift off (literally…since he has arrived in NHL in 2021, has played every game in regular shifts). Is loved by teammates, coaches. Definitely has never fallen out of favor. More likely gets extended 8-years at end of season.
Holtz is the guy who is often in the doghouse. Lindy Ruff doesn’t give him a ton of ice time. He scores…but will often be last in ice time. Has lead to big debate among Devils fans…play him more vs trade him. But kind of waste to get 5 minutes off 4th line. Especially when has has lead team in 5v5 pts/60.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>I’m not saying all of these players be included in the deal for Connor. I’m just saying that a few of the players listed be in the return to Wpg.
What type of player is Bastian?</div></div>
Was mostly kidding about Bastian. He is big body 4th line RWer who can dial up physicality when needed. Not really a pest. Has some good hands…usually good for handful of goals around net. Defensively solid…plays some PK. Long reach, quick stick. Not very fast. Good team guy.
If the names you mentioned, Nemec is probably the least available. Mercer is usually untouchable. Holtz probably an option. Toffoli could be too.
Maybe a scenario around Toffoli (at 50%) and Holtz and something for Connor.
Or just Holtz for Samberg+Lucius.

(I see you snuck Bastian in there too…that costs extra).
Hard to say no to any deal with Kyle Connor included…but it would hard to price to pay to include three of our top scoring options.
I’m undecided.

2 Key Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>I think if STL is retaining money on the contract WPG would need a sweetner. With the majority of the Jets coming back next year we might have the cap room to take on Faulk's whole contract and not have to give up too much to get him. That would spell the end of Dillion though. Which I'm very much ok with.</div></div>
You know what I just realized. I don't think Faulk would waive his NTC for a Canadian team. That probably kills this whole conversation when it was going so well. Oh well.

2 Key Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>I would be willing to listen to what it would take to acquire Faulk. But yes I can 100% agree with trading away a big piece within the division would potentially be adding salt to the wound. The Jets have Elias Salmonsson coming up but there would be no way we move him especially in the division. He should be NHL ready in 2-3 years (hopefully sooner) but watching him multiple times a year destroy the Jets would not be fun at all. But Faulk coming in would allow the Jets not to rush Salmonsson into the NHL.</div></div>
I think the Jets could put together a package that would work for both parties. Would you be trying to retain on Faulk or are you able to absorb his whole contract?

2 Key Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Sundqvist would be a great pick up for WPG but yeah I agree that STL probably holds on to him. I have a question for you as a STL fan. Do you see one of your defensemen being traded at the deadline or in the offseason? If so who? I was looking because WPG needs a solid RHD defenseman and Parayko would be my ideal player for WPG. interested to hear your thoughts about what STL would be looking for a return for Parayko.</div></div>
Krug probably gets bought out in the offseason if we can't move one of Faulk/Krug or Leddy.
As you can probably understand trading Parayko in division is a nightmare waiting to happen. It puts us in a full blown rebuild and then we have to watch Parayko on a different team multiple times per year. Unless you guys have a young very projectable 1D I dont see Parayko being moved.

You can have Armia for free and the Jets seem like the one destination that is a win-win scenario for both clubs. The Habs dont need to move him. And, if he's not moved they wash their hands clean with a buy out in the offseason at 800k in 2024-25 and 1.2M AAV in 2025-26. Hes way overpaid on a bottom feeder club but he's been effective with Monahan/Roy of late and should help a contender defensively, on the pk, down low and he has been a good playoff performer in the past. You cant say the same for say a Tyler Johnson in Chicago.
Fun fact.
Joel Armia has as many goals as Tim Stutzle :awesome
