Description
I know the AAV on Lindholm is low but he gets the 8th year to make up for it, there's also the fact that staying in VAN and playing with Pettersson will help secure his place on any Sweden teams for the upcoming World Cup and Olympics as the team will be built around EP40. Guentzel may get more in which case VAN would either not sign Zadorov and go for someone cheaper or just not re-sign Myers.
Also the PP is a 1-3-1 that looks like
Boeser
Miller-Guentzel-Pettersson
Hughes

you titled this post "Clarity" and then made that trade for Jake....

    LMAO

If VAN trades for him with an extension in place AND take on Mikheyev it's going to cost you a lot more.

It looks good overall but I doubt Myers signs for that cheap. Probably have to sacrifice Z and Myers to pay a cheap bottom pair to fill out the roster.

But it's a lot to ask of Silovs and Lekkerimaki to make a big impact right away. But maybe they are ready for it.

I agree with this 100%. If Mikheyev is going back to PIT then be prepared to lose Lekkermaki or Willander. If Jake is Vancouver bound (with an extension in place) I can see it being
    VAN: Mikeheyev, Podkozin, Lekkermaki
    PIT: Jake (50% retained)

I don't think Fabbro gets traded unless Nashville has an immediate replacement. He's playing on the top pair with Josi and his numbers have looked good since he's replaced Barrie full time in the lineup

if an extension is in place + Mikheyev then a 1st needs to be in there too.

Mikheyev makes nearly $5M aav for 2 more seasons as is the same age as Jake....and is a bottom six winger. That isn't something the pens want/need so they'd absolutely need to overpay for the penguins to take it.

if they want to move Mikheyev then they can figure out who to pay to take him, not Pittsburgh though.

VAN is not trading Lekkerimaki, if Myers is put on LTIR then Mikheyev doesn't need to be included, just figured that PIT may be interested in trying to rehabilitate him

It was a tossup between him and Boqvist, if NSH doesn't want to deal him then VAN can look elsewhere

Myers made his money and is running out of time to win a cup, think he'd rather sign for cheap here than get around $3M with a bottom feeder, his family lives in Kelowna so there's incentive to keep local. As for Silovs and Lek, I 100% feel they're ready, Silovs probably could have been the backup this season but we needed to take DeSmith back in the Pearson dump, Lek may need to bounce between the NHL and AHL but I feel he has the offensive talent to make the team and maybe even compete for the Calder.

I can totally see Alvin/ Jimmy R trading Lekkermaki if there is a trade and extension for Jake. I would rather see them trade Lekkermaki than Willander. Also I have heard that Myers is close to being ready to come back and same with Soucy. So Mikheyev will most definitely have to be included in any deal going forward.

Alvin will never trade a Swede, there's no chance Lekkerimaki or Willander are traded, Raty, Bains, our 2025 1st and other pieces are up for grabs but our top 2 prospects aren't. Myers is week to week and VAN could use the dark arts to leave him on LTIR until the playoffs.

Pens have said they want prospects in any return for Guenztel. Raty, and Bains don't move the needle enough for the Pens.

the VAN will look elsewhere, Raty, Bains, a 1st and 3rd is more than fair, Podkolzin is also an option there, if it's not enough for Dubas then VAN can go after Toffoli or someone else.

why on earth would a team basically on their dying breath want to try and rehab an overpaid 4th liner? That thought process makes no sense lol

I would love to see Silovs take that step next season. If he doesn't, I'd be slightly concerned but would understand if they didn't push it for another year.

If VAN wants Guentzel they will have to add Lekkerimaki. If they can't accept that let them trade for Toffoli. After all you get what you pay for.

As for Mikheyev, if VAN wants to move him somewhere they really need to realize the 2 mil retention they will have to hold on that contract to get anyone to take him.
I'm sure someone would give him a try at 2.75. But at 4.75 per it's just not happening. Bad contract the day it was signed.
