TDL 2024
You can have Armia for free and the Jets seem like the one destination that is a win-win scenario for both clubs. The Habs dont need to move him. And, if he's not moved they wash their hands clean with a buy out in the offseason at 800k in 2024-25 and 1.2M AAV in 2025-26. Hes way overpaid on a bottom feeder club but he's been effective with Monahan/Roy of late and should help a contender defensively, on the pk, down low and he has been a good playoff performer in the past. You cant say the same for say a Tyler Johnson in Chicago.
Fun fact.
Joel Armia has as many goals as Tim Stutzle :awesome

Its more of a rebuilding team with an older guy getting paid for 8 years...They wanted to add him for a playoff team and this team regressed this year with all the garbage with Babcock...My thought of getting him on the WPG side is he is a big body RD who is a home boy...which is what WPG needs.

No need to make a lateral move at best with Appleton and Barron. Why does everyone want to mess with one of the best teams in the league to add a cap dump and a nothing bottom sixer or other similar filler?
Why risk the chemistry for such marginal pieces?</div></div>
Cause thats what CapFriendly is for dawg.

No to moving Lambert
Buffalo isn’t moving Mittelstadt
Zero interest in wasting assets on Chychrun
What is with this obsession with acquiring a player we don’t need… this is a hockey team, not a collectors card collection

Unlikely Winnipeg moves Lambert or that Buffalo moves Mittelstadt.
Ottawa isn't retaining on Chychrun and Winnipeg shouldn't be paying more for him that Ottawa did considering he has less term now and doesn't really fill a need for the Jets.

Winnipeg Jets Playoff Push
No to Chychrun… Jets don’t need an overrated LHD
No to moving Chisholm… he can take the 3rd pairing LD slot next year if Dillon isn’t resigned
Really no reason to move Appleton as long as he’s playing good
Lindholm likely cost 1st + Lucius level prospect + another small add

different MTL player
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Monahan is a big NO from me. I don't trust his recent history to be a top 2 centre. WPG has a lot of left hand shot LW's. Especially with Perfetti playing LW. Barron is a really good young player but the return would help the Jets chances at winning a stanley cup. Sometimes teams need to lose good players for that to happen</div></div>
imo a contending team would use Monahan in a 3C role 5v5, and for secondary special team units (both PP and PK). He's literally been one of the better face off guys in the league this year with over 600 draws at almost 58%. What a team would want to pay for that is definitely up for debate.
but to each their own. Considering WIN is currently 6th worst in face offs this year. I think there would be a realistic interest in him.

Don’t think Savard is that much of an upgrade over what the jets currently have to justify paying that price.
I don’t hate acquiring lindholm, although the ask is high. I’d prefer to see them target a less talked about option. Chevy always pulls something out of left field.

I would love Lindholm as 2nd line C, think he would fit perfectly. Only question is if he would consider resigning with WPG.
Don't know if Savard moves the needle all that much, and not saying he isn't worth what's offered here, but I think Morgan Barron provides alot for the Jets and would be sorry to see him go.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CanMerc</b></div><div>Not with WPG
As it currently stands, <strong>Barron is the only Hab player, that might be available</strong>, that I’d have interest
I’d do Lucius for Barron</div></div>
I haven't heard, nor see why, Barron for MTL would be available. Of all the Dman MTL would want to trade, Barron is far down the list. Never say never, but it for sure won't be for depth roster players or drafts picks. Barron is still considered a solid prospect. So another would be asked in return, or MTL would package him for a greater piece (Which WIN would have zero interest in doing considering they are contenders this year)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Tell me more about Ylonen. It would be hard to part with Kupari because he can play centre with a right hand shot. Also really fast and strong on the puck. But I don't know much about Ylonen.</div></div>
Speedy, good shot, good hands, good agility, but defense lacks a bit. Hasn't gotten the TOI he should under MSL (he's playing with Pezzetta & Stephens on the 4th line) so I'm wondering whether there's a trade available for him that wouldn't be terrible for MTL

Not bad - I like the possibility of uniting the Barrons
What would WPG think about a Ylonen-Kupari swap?

I don't know if the Canucks wanna move Garland now. He's been excellent with Joshua and is a big part of why the Canucks bottom six is borderline excellent now. I'd be interested in Demelo for a pick tho

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Thanks for the insight to the Hawks. I wasn't sure what they had in their system for defensemen prospects. I thought Stanley would give them a young big defensemen that has played enough NHL games to get them to next year. Stanley is on a 1 year deal.
I very much agree about the Schmidt contract. I also figured the Hawks could be able to take on his full contract and also give veteran leadership to whatever prospects they have on defense. Kind of like what Perry and Foligno provide to the forwards.</div></div>
Right idea, but on the left side they have prospects Korchinski, Vlassic, Kaiser. With several other LD prospects that could play this season or next.
As far as veteran leadership. They have Seth Jones and Connor Murphy to cover that. With Tinordi and Zaitsev filling out the rest of the NHL team. I don't see the Hawks using assets to pay for "veteran leadership" this season or next. Especially not on someone like Schmidt would be cost assets AND money. If there are roster holes they are better filled in free agency where it only costs them money.

Take Raddysh and Stanley out of the deal and add the '25 2nd and the Hawks might consider it.

Garland 3 options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>reports are saying that CLB is looking to trade one of their Dmen away to clear up the log jam on defense. I included Peeke because he is a a UFA in 3 years and Boqvist still has team control after his contract runs out. But would Jackets fans be more open to trading Boqvist over Peeke? not familiar with the Jackets.</div></div>
Not necessarily. Boqvist will get the better return, but yeah one will likely be traded. Garland is just not a return we would be interested in. His term is too long and we have young guys that need to be re-signed in that time. The only player that makes sense for the Jackets to trade for Garland is Gudbranson because they are on similar contracts

Winnipeg can't afford to do that. Garland's a nice player, but has a bad contract that Winnipeg doesn't need.

Could be kind of interesting also with a 3 way deal that gets Calgary logjam odd man out tender to Anaheim, Winnipeg gets Gibson and jets get something to Calgary, and ship helly somewhere else.
