Robertson is PPG in the AHL but went .1 PPG in the nhl. I know it’s a small sample size but if you compare other small sample sizes it is very different. For example, in 28 games he had 28 points. Not too shabby. Jack drury of the canes went 24 in 18 in the Calder cup playoffs. Mind u there is roughly a 1 year age gap but in small sample sizes they can be seen as elite prospects. Both will definitely be NHLers next year but it’s kind of picking and choosing stats to bolster the value of them. SDA went 32 in 51 in the AHL as a 21 year old. That translates to middle 6 potential with a floor of 4th line. Not rlly the great prospect you say he is when you look at the stats. The fact that to make the trade even work you have to have the hawks retain 2.5 mil means he will likely be 6mil more on the books if the leafs want to resign him. Hard to imagine a world where the hawks accept that trade without the retention let alone with it. SDR Robertson and 2 late firsts are not getting cat. If that’s what it takes the canes are giving up drury, ponomarev, 2 firsts, a second, and fast for cat without retention which is a better offer. Dont even try to get me going on the sanhiem trade. I get the flyers r tanking and all but do you really see them selling on him for muzzin and topi as the only real assets. They could get more for him at the deadline but then again it’s the flyers and they gave up actual valuable assets for risto. Soup man isn’t signing for that low, especially in a Canadian market where the taxes are higher. Kinda weird how ppl don’t look at how it’s automatically harder for Canadian teams to sign free agents because of taxes in their nation. End of the day, this is an unrealistic hawks trade, flyers trade, and soup signing and Canada has taxes
