Sujet: Gudbranson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NunyaBitness</b></div><div>Do you have any ideas on how you would help the D core during the season? Gudbranson is just a suggestion. There's plenty of salary next offseason but a little defensive stabilization now would give Holland a better idea of what he really has on the back end. We have some great prospects coming up but I can't see one of them being a great leader right off the bat. We need someone with experience, that will likely cost more than their play on the ice (see; Shea Weber). I can't find a good Veteran leader that they could bring in on D and no I'm not suggesting thats Gudbranson. Who would you target?</div></div>

Honestly I run the group as is. Losing Klefbom is a bigger hole to fill than many people realized, which is odd because the win-loss record clearly reflects his importance any time he goes on LTIR.

If we're grabbing someone it's not going to be an end of career "leader" who can't skate or pass. It would have to be a swing for the fences kind of deal, like RNH for Seth Jones; I bet NSH regrets choosing Ryan Johansen instead. Wrong Ryan!

I still have time for Barrie to put it together. He looks better playing with Nurse, although OTT isn't the strongest of competition to make a firm assessment against.

But forced to make a trade, maybe I'd look for someone like Brandon Montour, maybe Sami Vatanen. All depends, really. Nurse's next contract is going to be critical to the cap structure going forward. Everyone else will need to fit in around his cap hit.
