What are you saying man? Lmao I get you like him but he's nothing more than a bottom six forward. He went for a 4th round pick last season. A point-per-game rookie in the AHL and three draft picks is more than enough. No team is giving up more than that. Keep dreaming.

Bertuzzi is going to get a lot more than this. His point totals aren't great this year but he's going to be valued by his reputation. It always happens. Someone is absolutely going to pay a 1st for him.

why would he get more than the Huberdeau deal? Hubby put up like 120 pts or something ridiculous and only got 10.5 mil with CGY, signed by Brad Treliving.
you guys need to remember that ONE phenomenal season does not warrant the player receiving an 8 year deal at ridiculous money like 12-13mil. we've seen it many times. I can virtually guarantee you William Nylander does not sign for anything north of 11, and even that is pushing it.

Nope he’s just not going anywhere he’s young and good no need to trade him unless it’s a massive overpayment

Love to see Reaves waived. $200k penalty for burying him worth it. If Reaves is claimed throw an actual $200k party.

Uhh put down the pipe, bro. The guy you benched for the playoffs is not close to Faulk. Get a grip, fellas.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WN88</b></div><div>Value-wise, he is. A 31 year old defencman on a horrible contract is no where near as valuable as a defenceman that’s just as effective, significantly younger, and on a much better contract.
If “the guy you benched in the playoffs” is all you have to say about him, then that tells me you prob don’t know what he’s actually like as a player.</div></div>
In what world is Lily anywhere near Faulk in performance? Holy ****, man. Like... what??? And a contract does not become "horrible" just because people repeat it ad nauseum. The guy broke his career high in points last season, wears an A, plays far tougher competition and is a much better player than you somehow imagine he is. I honestly don't know where you guys get some of this stuff. It's wild.
And umm, "the guy you benched in the playoffs" is a very significant thing. Especially considering a couple the stiffs he was benched for.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Calgary says no to the exchange of upcoming UFA....if they have to give up a first also. Leafs shouldn't be trading Liljegren for one year of Pesce straight up, never mind giving up a first. San Jose says no. Leafs shouldn't be trading Timmins in they nothing in return. McCain isn't a first liner, so Leafs don't give up a first to get him.</div></div>
While I totally agree that Pesce is overrated, if you can get him for your 2nd pair without losing a major roster piece, I am not sure you can say no. He's definitely a big upgrade over Liljegren, maybe one day he really finds his way but he hasn't yet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Really? I know Leaf fans and Leaf haters think the Leafs are so poor defensively. Gee, the Leafs allowed just 10 more goals than the Canes last season. Difference in 2.6m in next year cap over the two Dmen which the Leafs need. Liligren has three years of control, Pesce one. And to expect the Leafs to give up a first also.</div></div>
I mean it isn't just that Pesce is a better defensive defenseman but he also produces more offense than Liligren. Your giving the Hurricanes a down grade so some extra payment would be expected to be going with Liligren

Pesce is an upgrade... he's the kind of defensive guy that the leafs need

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jaok3</b></div><div>Jarvis is another small winger with no physical play, leafs already have too many of these style players. What players are going to the minors?</div></div>
Tell me you know nothing about Seth Jarvis without telling me you know nothing about Seth Jarvis. Dude is on the small side, fine. But to say he has "no physical play"? Absolute laugher. Doesn't hit so much because the Canes always have possession, but go and watch any goal he's scored ever, he's always fighting people off and battling for position in front of the net looking for contact.

Off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>capsleafs447</b></div><div>But Toronto isn’t a team where offensive talent is lacking, it’s a team where it’s abundant. Konecny would be a good add, sure, but he’s not worth two firsts and two decent prospects. If one first is bumped down to a second and one of the prospects is taken out, and the fourths can stay in Philly, the trade feels more fair.</div></div>
Im not saying Toronto is a team that offensive Talent is lacking. The Flyers are.
I'm saying I believe a 2 Late 1st + Prospect is somewhat justified given what a player like Hagel got being on a good contract with term, Konecny being the far superior player has similar situation of having a good contract with term.
