Now its time to build part 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Loosing our on Stutzle set the rebuild back two years. It's going to be 2027 or 2028 before the sharks start sniffing the playoffs again.
It's a 6-8 year slog, and it's going to be on the long end for San Jose.</div></div>
6-8 years from 2020 when DW screwed this team's future and Grier has been fixing that mess since. So that's 2-5 years from now which is a timeline I can agree with. I'm not sure if that's what you meant or if you meant 6-8 years from now, which i very much disagree with.
it depends on who get's Celebrini, but gods willing the Sharks get him, I think SJS and CHI are on a similar timeline and ANA may be one year ahead, although having a one point increase from last season should be very worrisome for them with all the talent that came in this season

I guess we'll see in his draft year, but they're similar age NOW and Celebrini is outproducing Hagens by a decent margin, while being a 2-way/grinding beast

They have the best fans in the league given their market. Jiricek is NOT leaving. I like the team and they deserve a high end player out of the teams that are in the running for 1st overall (other than Sharks). Also their management literally got canned this year

Celebrini > Hagens by quite a large margin.
He had a better draft -1 year than Hagens is having now, and is producing better at the NCAA level right now than Hagens is at the NTDP, while currently only being 5 months older. He's also on the extremely high end defensively

Probably the only situation where I wouldn't really mind the Sharks losing the lotto. CBJ deserve to win one.
Also don't think there's a chance Buium falls outside the top 8

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NotDougWilson</b></div><div>Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want a 1st round pick for him. If a team retains and we give them a 5th, no problem. Easy peasy. But, I think if we attach an underperforming prospect like Weisblatt or Coe it could make sense to get the 1st without having to pay a 3rd team.</div></div>
That would be ideal, especially since Cardwell has the grit and physicality of Weisblatt + the offense we expected from Coe, so losing either of those guys wouldn't be a huge deal

Yeah I've heard/read a few scouts being kind of annoyed that he wasn't playing in the KHL considering he was easily able to talent wise

Detroit would be legit insane to pick a D-man if they won that lottery with how good their d prospect pool is. 100% they take Catton if he's available there

Why is Eiserman falling
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>Eiserman is exactly like Holtz! Very one dimensional but that shot is elite! If he can get to average skater, passer, and Defensivly he could be a huge piece for the club who gets him, but if he doesn’t he likely ends up a 3rd line wing and PP specialist.</div></div>
Yeah I'm mostly joking around. I think Eiserman is much better of a prospect than Holtz. He's actually quite physical and has good hands, but not a guy I'd risk taking unless he falls to the 13-14 pick the Sharks have.

And then in 5 years when Eiserman doesn't work out they can draft another shooter with a one dimensional game to replace him lol

I watched some scouting footage and weak stride was definitively not an issue I saw in his game

Fitting team needs
If the Sharks do any of this I'll become a Knights fan. I don't understand the Lindstrom hype other than "big". I watched actual videos of him playing and he's far from dominant, and has extremely mediocre production. I wouldn't take in the top 12. They also need a RHD more than anything and Levshunov is that guy,
they are also much more likely to trade up, not down. Helenius is a perfect pick for them, as is Parekh so if they fall to the 10+ range I'm sure they'd look to get one of them

Celebrini- Big Youth Movement
That second line is going to get eaten alive. Why is Granlund on the 4th line wing? Why is Hulttunen on the Sharks already. He's had good, not great season in the OHL.
This is just rushing every prospect into the starting lineup and will destroy their development. Smith should be given the option of either going back to BC or, if willing, start in the AHL. Graf will likely start in the AHL as well.
Get some vets to help them win games help the young guys who DO make the team develop.

What in the world is the incentive for the Sharks here? not to mention the value alone isn't remotely close
A rebuilding team trading a young leader on a great contract and heart and soul depth forward that they could get good picks for, for a 30 year old with with mediocre production with 4 more years at 5 mil and D-man who's comparable to the one they're trading away who has a higher cap hit and is 3 years older.

Markstrom Hayes and trading down
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sharcuda22</b></div><div>I would add to this list if some how silayev Dickinson Helenius or Demidov are available</div></div>
Agreed on everyone but Silayev and Dickinson imo. I think Buium would be the only LD i'd be interested in. They desperately need a top RD prospect and a Center/RW would be next in line.
If they get Levshunov at 2-3, I think Catton/Demidov/Helenius would be great players to trade up for. I think Greentree may be a good option available at 14 without trading up.
If they get Celebrini, Gods willing, then they should go hard after Parehk or Yakemchuck. If the price is too high to move up than Jiricek is a good option at 14

not saying that's not great value, but they absolutely need leadership and culture as they rebuild. With Hertl gone and Couture essentially retired, Ferraro has to be untouchable until the youth take over the leadership

Big 24-25 for playoffs mix
Things have changed now that PIT is eliminated. That PIT pick is now either 14 or 13 (if they don't win the lottery) so SJ is more likely to trade up to get someone or stay pat, not trade down. Barron is solid but he doesn't have a high ceiling and they could potentially get a really solid RD at 2-3 or trade up and get one at 8-12
