Help Macklin
Why make the defense worse? And why throw away the 14th overall pick for Marner who will just leave after a year.
Sign guys through free agency to round out the offense AND defense, but don't give up young players and future assets, wtf

I mean I guess, if they let Addison walk. Lundkvist has been far and away the worst Star in these playoffs.
But then again Grier is cornering the market on player with "Lund" in their name, so I'm all for the memes

Trust your homegrown talent.
Literally rejecting the best prospect pool in the league and turning this team into a retirement home for very mediocre vets.
you're adding 10 free agents who will be 30+ years old. It's not even a good team. Zetterlund, Musty, thrun, Guchchin, Cardwell, Shakir, Cagnoni. there's so many Sharks prospects i'd take over half of these guys

Crazy how people think the Sharks are dying to add salary to their cap. As if they can't just overpay some ACTUALLY good players in free agency to make their team better.
They could throw 7.5 mil at Stephenson, 6 mil at Domi, and 5.5 at Demelo and STILL be about 6 mil under the cap (and that's with Couture's 8 mil accounted for, who likely won't even play)

Yeah I think that's closer but Domi and Demelo are guys I think the Sharks should target, and the Sharks could easily give them north of 6 mil on short term contracts

Sharks absolutely do that. Hell, they do that without the retention. But no chance JT waives. Also now way DeMelo or Domi sign for that low.

It's not rigged FFS. If you genuinely believe it is then you're an idiot. there's literally a rep for every org that sits in and watches the full drawing happen. Not to mention the absolute fallout from every other owner would be historic

I wouldn't give up a third alone for Robo jr let alone adding a leader in the Sharks locker room. They have about 3-5 prospects who could step in and be as/more effective next year as robo

Revamping defence
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FunMustBeAlways</b></div><div>Their lack of any offensive talent really negates their grit and leadership. Kunin is such a plug lol
At least sturm has good faceoff stats, is speedy and can effectively center a bottom-6 line. That sadly doesn't make him (or Kunin) worth a 2nd though.</div></div>
I didn't say Kunin was worth a 2nd. And you must not have watched Kunin the last month. He was probably the best Shark without Lund in their name. 3rds are not great assets, so giving up a leaders on a team that's already seen an unbelievable amount of turnover over the past few years is very damaging to a team.

And Sturm for a 3rd is more reasonable honestly but sharks can’t retain.</div></div>
He's a workhorse depth C and a great leader on this team as they rebuild. A 3rd isn't worth it with how thin they are down the middle.
They need guys like him and Kunin around to be leaders

These are awful for every team that isn't the leafs. Sturms not going anywhere for anything less than a 2nd and adding retention is a joke.

Blue Jackets turn down this garbage in a heartbeat.</div></div>
D-men take longer to develop. Shakir is a high end prospect in a position that the Sharks need more. 59 points is pretty bad for a guy who's played 130 games and projects to maybe be a 2nd line winger/Center. If he was trending up that's one thing, but he goes on a solid streak and then is invisible again. Sharks management is much more interested in a big d-man with similar potential

consistency is your soon to be 25 year olds issue

They've impacted his growth as a player too much to be interested in
I really dont get his logic for making this trade at all
Monahan is a UFA and much better and we know he fits our system</div></div>
Are you talking about Zetterlund? lol I'd recommend actually watching him because he's very consistent in his play, he was traded (once) because he was literally too good for the role he was in and was seen as a good asset, yet expendable to bring in a similar style player, and he played 82 games and has one injury record back in 2019
Ask any NJ fan what they think of him. He's a fantastic player

This draft could be super surprising
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caufield</b></div><div>With all due respect, there isn't anyone who has top-pair potential, and probably only Shakir and Ferraro who could be decent 2nd pair. There is no one on that left side that can carry that SJ Defense, so that's why I think SJ should just take the best D available, who imo, is Dickinson. I completely understand Lev being the pick though</div></div>
Shakir absolutely does have top pairing potential, Cagnoni also does. Then there's Thrun, and Furlong who are very solid middle pairing projected players (Thrun is already shown he has that capability).
Also i'd easily take Buium over him if they were forced to take a LHD.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Yeah, they both are. Granlund was brought in as a cap dump. A fluke year doesn't change what he is. Why did you think no one was interested at the tdl?
Benning is paid too much for a 6/7D.</div></div>
He had a fluke year while being on one of the worst offensive teams in the salary cap era? lol He's hit the 60+ point mark 4 times in his career. Maybe watch him play before saying something so ignorant
Same goes for Benning, calling a middle paring RHD making 1.25 mil a year "paid too much" is some wild mental gymnastics
