Celebrini > Hagens by quite a large margin.

He had a better draft -1 year than Hagens is having now, and is producing better at the NCAA level right now than Hagens is at the NTDP, while currently only being 5 months older. He's also on the extremely high end defensively

Huh?

Hagens may be better than Celebrini right now!

(also Celebrini is not "extremely high-end defensively",..or at least has not shown it at NCAA level. His usage in college was heavily in offensive situations).

No way and contrary to what every pro scout is saying. Hagens is a slight notch below Bedard while Celebrini is a full step below Bedard.

I guess we'll see in his draft year, but they're similar age NOW and Celebrini is outproducing Hagens by a decent margin, while being a 2-way/grinding beast

You have to look at the age group they are in, regardless of what their actual age is. How many years in the juniors, AAA, and downward. From a hockey development perspective, Hagens is a full year behind Celebrini

I'm comparing Celebrini's draft -1 year vs Hagens current year. He had a comparable year to Hagens considering the team and league. Again, he's nearly a full year younger than Hagens within his draft year

It's way too difficult to compare at this age with 1 year of development apart and unless you're watching the games with your own eyes, stat sheets don't give an objective view by themselves

Also why I said we'll see what Hagens does next year at BC. Right now Celebrini has proven that he can dominate at the NCAA level as a 17 year old. And for the 3rd time, I'm comparing both draft -1 years, so I'm comparing the same year of development between the two. I agree there's surely things I'll miss from only seeing clips of Hagens and not full games, but as of now I'd rather have Celebrini

It's just odd if you listen to what scouts and analysts say who watched them both develop. You are watching clips and looking at a stat sheet, that's not exactly a full picture. Who knows, maybe you end up being right but I have to believe the pros analysis of 16 and 17 year old kids before I trust myself with a stat sheet and a few clips
