Bobby Clarke said on a podcast that the Flyers scouting staff in 2017 wanted to take Cale Makar at 2nd overall.

Then Flyers GM Ron Hextall wanted Brandon Wheat Kings prospect Nolan Patrick instead.

Whenever there's an argument between the GM and the scouting staff, the GM always wins.

It's a fact of life.
