We couldnt get Duchene for that cheap, Carolina would never do that Faulk deal. Columbus wouldnt do that trade either. Seems to me like your overvalueing Montreals players, there is some clear bias here

Duchene trade - Sakic says hell no! He wants an established NHL defenseman, a defenseman prospect and a 1st in case you forgot

Faulk trade - Carolina ALSO says hell no! Faulk is the future of Carolina's success.

Anderson/Murray trade - No way are you getting a promising prospect and a good defenseman in Murray for an average winger and a decent at best defenseman in Schlemko. Basically its Gallagher for Anderson, I'm fine with that at Columbus' standpoint. But Murray for Schlemko? Have you lost your mind? That's an AWFUL deal for Columbus.

RNH/Nurse/Puljujarvi trade - Pacioretty is getting older but he's still very productive and Galchenyuk is under performing. RNH, Nurse and Puljujarvi aren't going anywhere. Nurse is the future of Edmonton's success just as Faulk is to Carolina. Puljujarvi is arguably Edmonton's best prospect and won't be getting traded anytime soon.

Nurse isn't going to be happy playing as a 7th defenseman

Faulk is not the future. He's the oldest of the D. Hanifin, Slavin, Fleury and Bean are the future.

The Edmonton trade is a move that will immediately make them cup contenders. Ya Puljujarvi and Nurse are the future, but Galchenyuk (23) and Pacioretty are the now. It all depends how long Chiarelli wants to wait to bring the cup home.

The Columbus trade...like I mentioned before. I won't put too much energy is dedending. I'd definitely love just the Gallagher/Anderson deal no doubt. Schlemko and Murray are 3rd pairing D. The only upside is that CLB is tight on capspace, Murray's contract is up after this year (2.8 mill). Will he ask for a big raise? Can CLB find a way to fit it in? I don't know. Schlemko has 3 years left at 2 mill. I actually believe Schlemko is a better D right now. But Murray is clearly alot younger and has time his side to fulfil his 2nd OAP status. It all depends again how close CLB believe they're to the cup.
