Be interested to hear from the CGY fans, but I have to imagine this package doesn't get MT. I'm sure we have the pieces to acquire him, but would CGY really want more prospects for him?

If I was CGY I'd want more quality. Tkachuk is a stud and that can't just be bought with throwing in non stud prospects and picks back.

Since Im here, would you be interested in joining the GM game? We need assistant GM's to take over for head GM's when they are fired/etc. Right now the AGM list isn't long so as soon as some ppl are kicked out, you'd be hired as a full time GM pretty quickly.

Here's the direct link if your interested:

No thanks, I've had a few people ask me, but looking over that game makes my head spin. Not a huge fan of things like NMC/NTC not being enforced and having a guy like Doughty traded 3-4 times.

For starters, McQuaid isn't worth a lot to us. He'd end up as a 30 year old 5-6 Dman behind Giordano-Hamilton and Brodie-Hamonic. It wouldn't make sense for Calgary to add another defenseman especially with their organizational depth with guys like Kylington, Andersson, Valimaki and Fox. I don't know a lot about Vatrano, but considering he's 4-5 years older than Tkachuk, he's also a no. With the year he had and where Calgary is, I'd say he's virtually untouchable for Calgary, and the only time they'd move him to Boston would be in a deal involving Pastrnak. We can debate what the deal would look like and who would add more to the deal, but I don't think that sort of deal would make sense for either team. Boston knows what they have in Pastrnak and he doesn't have any character issues that would make them need to move him, and Calgary has an elite prospect in Tkachuk who can score, make plays, drive possession and supress shots who could blossom into as good a player as Pastrnak, if not better. So I don't think a deal with Boston for Tkachuk makes much sense.

Oh 100% that package isn't worth MT and I don't see how CGY could use McQuaid. Vatrano is a bit of a sleeper, NHL release but still learning the pro game. He's only been pro for 2 years since leaving Umass Amherst. Lights up the AHL (39G in 43 GP), but he's still looking to find his shot at the NHL level. Played a lot of 3rd line for us with Spooner and either Nash/Bels/Hayes (overall a terrible line). He's a guy that (based on his averages and S%) could net 20G over 82 games right now. He's not a main piece, but could be a nice 2nd tier piece.

Obviously anything involving Pasta goes from MT to JG for B's fans.

Please don't compare pastrnak to tkachuk. if there was a deal involving pastrnak to calgary it would have to be way more then tkachuk coming back.
