He's still an NHL caliber defenceman on the last year of his deal on a movable contract, the only reason a team wouldn't want a good option top 4 dman is because they can't handle the fact that he may have a different opinion and set of values than they do, which I guess is impossible in this day and age.

He also has a mental lapse in the dzone every other game. So there are legitimate concerns with his game that are overblown at times but should be addressed.

True but as a top 6 option I don't think that you could do much better not to mention the horrible horrible coaching he had to deal with all season, I think in a proper system he can be a very solid top 4 that is good for 30-40 points a season which is well worth his contract.

This is well thought out. Nothing spectacular, but solild. Both trades feel fair, if underwhelming for both sides. I'd prefer to sign Brenden Dillon for the open LHD spot but I like signing Gryz instead just fine. Stephenson probably gets more either term or AAV, but good target if they are going to sign a free agent forward. I like the RFA deals, too.

I struggled with the Stephenson signing the most tbh. He’s already 30 and offering more term than 4 gets dicy. I would probably go up to 5.25x 5 years but not any more tbh.
I like the Dillon suggestion and it was between him and gryz, gryz has that spitfire energy and is coming from that Boston locker room which is important when trying to rebuild the culture of a team.
