Pretty easy no from Detroit. Danielson is not available. We wouldn't even trade one of our guests for Ullmark, we aren't giving you a top prospect for him.

There will be a lot of bluster about what would be traded and won’t be traded. Ullmark would be a significant upgrade over their current goalie situation and developing Cossa as a 1B is an ideal situation unless your objective is not to make the playoffs.

No way they include any of their top 4 prospects, but I could easily see a situation where they offer Trey Augustine and William Wallinder for him. Boston gets an immediate influx of good prospects into the system from positions of depth,

I believe he’s going to Ottawa

Easy pass from Detroit. Maybe you get Soderblom and a 2nd but I’m not sure Yzerman even offers that.

First off NO. Danielson is our top prospect.

All these trades are going to be based off the Calgary trade. Calgary retained a huge chunk of salary for two years in that trade. Without retention NJ doesn't do the trade and Calgary would not have received a late 1st.

Everyone is missing this point in their Ullmark trade proposals. I don't see his return being big, especially without an extension.

Our two way Top 6 center prospect for your 31 year old goalie who’s going UFA in a year and a late 2nd.

Put down the bottle. It’s not even 2PM.

Wallinder yes. Augustine no. At the end of the day you don’t give up a situation where you have two solid goalie prospects. If you do and the keeper blows his development or a knee or a groin, you’ll never forgive yourself.

I agree with you that Ottawa is a strong possibility. Detroit just isn’t, unless he comes cheap, which he won’t. Ullmark is gonna want money on his next deal, and Yzerman isn’t offering money and term to a 32 year old goalie.

The reality is Detroit is going to have to make a decision. Goalie has been an opportunity for improvement and young goalies generally aren’t what you want starting

I think the management has a grasp of reality that the fan base doesn’t, which is that no goalie is gonna look good behind our **** defense.

Ned good before he got here. Sucked when he got here. Good when he went to PIT. Husso good before he got here. Sucked when he got here.

It’s gonna be plugs for 2-3 years while Cossa gets his feet wet. With any luck, we grab a decent RHD to play behind Seider. Edvinsson’s permanent promotion will help the left side. That should be some relief for the goalies.

You also have some top shelf prospects and your defense has NHL players on it. Wonder how much of it is tied to the play of your forwards

Sorry I edited after you replied, but yeah, with any luck we grab a solid RHD to play behind Seider, and Edvinsson’s promotion will help on the left.

Walman/Seider
Edvinsson/Roy (for example)
Maatta/Chiarot

Would be a massive improvement over:

Chiarot/Petry
Maatta/Ghost
