-Avs use their 1st rounder to trade back twice. One to Calgary, they take Nichushkin for free in addition to moving up (try to salvage the Huberdeau situation), and trade back again to swap Georgiev for Ingram
-With the Utah pick, 38th overall, I addressed Scott Wheeler's mock that came out this morning to see who was available, and selected defenceman Cole Hutson

I would be pretty upset if the Flames passed this up!

I just don't see the downside. Worst case scenario you can probably get out from under that contract, the way Arizona terminated Ruzicka's contract.

Interesting, I totally could. Put him back with Kadri as they were very, very strong together, and give Huberdeau someone who can hunt and play two-way for him, try to salvage what is currently a horrible contract

If it goes poorly, well it already was anyways

nothing to do with his play, but the Seattle hotel thing, and the drug test thing, its just a bad PR move. You guys want Dube going back to the avs?

I feel like Dube is a completely different situation than Nichushkin. Not even comparable

he's a good player, but trading for him, even if you can kill the contract, just looks really bad.

Yeah, unfortunately, the Flames were always concerned with optics.

Especially after losing both Dube, and Roni because of rape allegations. Then Ruzicka pulled his stunt after ARI claimed him off waivers.

Sometimes I just really wish they went after the best hockey players available.
