Do you actually believe the Leafs could get not just one, but two picks for a 4th line winger you are (let's be honest) trying to move because of cap reasons? Plenty of guys to pick from in free agency that would be a better use of cap space and wouldn't require picks.

Leaf fans have to get over the excuse he played for Keefe is going to make Fitz overspend to get him his security blankets.

If 40 point, 20 goal scorers making 2.1 million are just nothing 4th liners, I think you play too many video games. Jarnkrok is definitely a lot more than a 4th liner.

That’s not nearly enough for Marner, liljegren and Robertson. Marner alone could nearly get all that from Vegas. You know that Theodore only has 1 year left on his contract too right? Kason is a great piece as well but Marner is a 100 point player. That’s almost the point totals of karlson and Theodore combined from last year. I’d definitely want at least another 2nd rounder from Vegas. Bare minimum. No domi?

That was two years ago and he's done it once. But I am glad you have warmed up to him and want to keep him.

You guys live in lala land man….there’s no trade that makes sense for either of us, this one or your proposed one isn’t. Thankfully it’s been reported we haven’t even inquired about Marner

Marner is worth a lot more than what people think. If he waives his NMC, majority of the teams in the league will be contracting the leafs about him. Vegas makes total sense. Shed Theodore who’s also a UFA and due for a raise at the end of next season, get rid of a guy like barbashev and who is definitely replaceable and you get a winger who’s top 3 in the league playmaker, 100 point player if he’s healthy, phenomenal on the PP and plays solid PK minutes. There’s VERY few players in the league that do all of that as good as Marner and the ones that do aren’t up for trade. It was reported last week I think by elliot friendman that a trade could potentially be Theodore and Thompson plus a pick for Marner. The other guys like liljegren and Robertson won’t fit with your cap issues but Marner for Theodore and barbashev would. I’m not sure where your sources are from

He has averaged 15+ goals and 30+ points in his career. He's a versatile player. Good skater, good defensively and can contribute anywhere. He is in no way just a 4th liner. Get your leaf hate blinders off

I like this evaluation of Conor Timmins and think it's a lot more realistic than the simultaneously-posted ACGM which has him getting a third (!).

Timmins is definitely worth more than a 6th. He’s been injury prone a bit but he was drafted 32nd overall. He has potential on the right team. A late 4th I’d say

A player's draft position seven years ago has absolutely no relevance to his value today, especially when that's the only positive thing that you can say about him. By your logic, Lias Andersson, who was drafted seventh overall and was thereafter traded for a second-round draft pick, should be worth more than a fourth -- but he's not. Two different teams have given up on Timmins. Just look at a few of the defensemen taken behind Timmins in the same draft: Dylan Samberg was selected at #43, and has played 156 NHL games and is expected to be a full-time roster player next season. Gus Lindstrom, taken 38th, has played 174 NHL games and will play more games next season than Timmins. Nicolas Hague, chosen 34th, has played 296 NHL games and is obviously a top-4 defender on most teams. Timmins has played all of 91 games and if you use the injury excuse to explain why he's been held back, then that's exactly why Timmins isn't worth a fourth.

That’s exactly why he’s getting held back, injures. It’s not an excuse it’s facts. A fourth or sixth round draft pick will never play in the nhl chances are. If they do they won’t be impact players. Timmins is a full time player on about 1/3 of the NHL teams. 3rd pairing for sure but he’s a full time player. Where he got drafted ABSOLUTELY matters! It means that he showed the potential to be a solid defencemen in the NHL. Only reason he hasn’t been able to show that is his injuries. Stop yapping about a draft pick that will never turn into an nhl player. You’re losing Roy and doughty doesn’t have much left in the tank at all. You need to younger d men that can play.
