NJ doesn't need Rossi because he's going to be a top 6 and they already have two of those.

The rest, they should target Ullmark because he will cost less AAV then Saros and less trade value, while also being younger and fitting the window better

Saros is 29, Ullmark is 30. Not much different but younger and actually their ages

most the numbers u put for signings are just too low. U need to up most them by 1+m to even be in the running.
rossi is just unrealistic. if hes going to cost a haul and it doesnt really fit u guys. askarov + saros id be willing to bet dont get moved. askarov still needs another year and a year or 2 before he can really take the net, they easily will just resign saros to a 4xwateverm deal and trade him if they feel the need later. demko just isnt available and same with sway unless ur ready to move massive assets. Ullmark and stolarz are really the only 2 realistic moves for ur G and it doesnt sound like u guys are comfortable on what boston would want

FWIW, Saros just turned 29 this year back in April. Ullmark is about to turn 31 at the end of July. There is closer to a 2-year age gap between the two. Still not a large difference but if we are splitting hairs, Saros is still in the front half of his prime, while Ullmark is in the back half of his.

I wouldn't be opposed to moving Askarov, but it would take a lot for NSH to give him up (e.g. draft day deal, NJD on the clock with 10OA and Catton is still on the board)

To your follow up on Askarov on draft day. How do you see that trade playing out from Preds side Askarov for 10OA straight across? What is added? Most probably Trotz says no but its interesting to think of

Considering how Askarov has developed, it would likely be straight across or NJD adds a depth prospect or something like a 4th or 5th round pick. Askarov just got named to the AHL top prospects team (alongside Brandt Clarke, Logan Stankoven, Simon Edvinsson, Jiri Kulich, and Shane Wright). He has already proven everything he needs in the AHL at 21 and is honestly ready for the jump to the NHL. Not as a starter, but as a backup who should get 25-30 games, and if Lankinen doesn't resign in NSH, Askarov likely starts backing up Saros next season in that fashion. 2-3 more years and he will be ready for a starter's crease.

If NSH is trading Askarov it puts more pressure on NSH to sign Saros long term, but if it can secure NSH someone who can develop into a true 1C, like Catton or Lindstrom then I could see Trotz pulling the trigger on that. NSH has never had someone who is a true 1C, at best they have had players who could play that role, but were better as a 2C. Securing one is something I could see happening. That said, Trotz has said his team building philosophy starts from the goalie and goes out, so it would have to be the right player for Trotz to do it.
