Detroit adds quite a bit
15OA doesn’t get you a top 3 goalie prospect in the entire league.

Askarov is their future, they may resign Saros but Saros sat behind Rinne for quite a bit before taking over and I think that’s what Nashvilles plan is with askarov. Always helps to have a good mentor.

Detroit would have to offer probably 15OA+Danielson or ASP+a mid rd pick for them to consider.

If they are losing on goalie depth they will want to fix a different area of need which is a top 6 C or top 4 RHD prospect

Detroit declines. They have their man in goal in Cossa. Paying a 1st round pick for a goalie doesn't help this team either now or in the future. Right now the problem is defense, not goalies and in the future the goalie position won't be a problem with all of Cossa, Augustine, Gylander waiting in the wings.

😭 Bro wants more for a prospect than it would cost to go out and get like Swayman

Yeah the trade value of a goalie and the cost of a cap dump are 2 things that CapFriendly users overvalue.

Which at the end of it, even if the value is fair, doesn't make much sense given Detroit's goalie prospect and forward prospect situation.

All McPasta is saying is if you want Askarov then you are going to have to overpay. His trade proposal is accurate because Nashville in no way is wanting to trade their future #1 goalie.

This is 100% NSH's current plan. Saros sat behind Rinne for 3-4 years before truly splitting the net with him for another 1-2. All in all a 5-6 year transition from Rinne to Saros. NSH is going to try to lock up Saros for that 5-6 years and then either trade him like how Markstrom is being dealt now or have Saros transition to back-up role when he is 34-35. Askarov takes over as starter around 25-26.

NSH would require an overpay to get Askarov. If either goalie gets moved it is going to be Saros more likely because they can't agree on contract stuff. But with Cossa in system for DET, I really don't think they need Askarov. Will Askarov likely be a better goalie? Yes. Will Cossa be a bad goalie worthy of replacing? No, and far from it.

Paying double what he's worth is more than just "overpay", it's delusion.

Once again, if the (believed) cost to acquire Askarov is more than what it would cost to get Swayman (e.g., Pellikka + 15OA), then you should reconsider your demands.
