What garbage returns for Cernak and Cirelli. Neither of whom will Brisebois trade. 11OA from 98 -17 11 played less than 200NHL games. Of the 9 that played more 2 were better than Cirelli (Kopitar and Ryan Ellis) 3 Others on par the rest not close. This trade does nothing to improve team defense. Cernak they didn't acquire Mac to trade Cernak most likely to reunite them as a lockdown pairing. Ahhh Cooper playing Sergachev on his off hand all year 🙄. We know how well that goes over with Cooper.

Ya know, dropping 8 spots but getting Cernak is an interesting idea...... Not too old, good size, good contract.

This is good value but, we are not rebuilding. I can't see why we would trade 2 important pieces like Cernak and Cirelli. It is one or the other imo and I feel like keeping Cirelli make more sense.

i wouldnt call it a rebuild. just more of a retool of pieces we can afford to lose right now while keeping our cornerstones and bringing up some AHL guys in the next 2 years

I remember Cooper saying he liked Crozier (or maybe it was Carlile I think?) and wanted them up all season, I feel like he might be an extra or maybe even 3RD in place of Perbix. Who knows, but I really hope we don't have another logjam situation like we did years ago

I get it but, It would be way less risky to trade Cernak + a sweetner for Buffalo's 1st. Then draft Yakemchuk or Eiserman.

Why would they? Adams would be running to Pegula all giddy and beside himself if that's all it took to land Cirelli.

Maybe you meant Tampa ownership vetoing it.....doesn't seem like the trade helps them unless they're truly in a cap crunch and have no other options they like.

They should do it. Cirelli to Buffalo is a Kadri/Hyman-type move that would get them to the next level.

IIRC his contract is pretty heavy in signing bonuses which Pegula has actively tried to avoid.

Oh no question from a hockey perspective this is the ideal move
