That Avs trade is interesting. I jumped in here to say there's no way a contender trades their starting goalie, but after looking at the available ufa's i think that if they think they can land Brossoit or Stolarz and split games 50/50 for cheaper than Georgiev, they might look at it. Still probably say no but it was way more fun to actually look into it.

Gavrikov and his full NMC says no.

Aaron Dell did really well for the Reign last season. If the Kings are going to sign a veteran goaltender for Ontario, it will likely be him.

Gavrikov has NMC, you really think he waives to Utah? Sure Utah has cap but they have three UFA Dmen to resign.

Almost no chance the Avs trade Georgiev. Zero reason to trade their starter unless they've decided to get into the Ullmark/Markstrom bidding wars, and there's really no reason they would do that either.

I agree; Dell was serviceable, but Driedger knocked out a rolling Ontario Reign, which could be an intriguing goalie reclamation project. LA might be able to have more pull toward goalies after seeing Rittich gain an NHL role on the Kings after being passed on by all 32 teams at the beginning of the season. I personally don't dislike that goalie trades or Amadio, as stated above by y'all unlikely we could move Gavy though.

I know hes got a NMC guys, but from the outside perspective Gavi has to hope and pray he works well with Clarke (which I highly doubt he will) or be prepared to take a big pay cut next season or go to free agency. If he waives for Utah he can go there with little expectations to do well getting top pairing minuets and potentially reup with Utah continuing to get overpaid or hit free agency. His future in LA is controlled by someone else, if he waives then he controls his future.

I think the upside to Driedger is higher than Dell if one gets called up.

Gavrikov will go to UFA next summer. He can then pick whatever team he wants to play for. Not sure why he needs to have a stopover in Utah to control his own future.

The problem with Driedger is that he had a quality season in the AHL this year, and some team with a goaltending injury might want to snag him off waivers, and then the Kings are left without a 3rd goaltender. The fact that he has more upside is the reason why the Kings can't sign him.

and after watching him in the playoffs, i'd not even think about a goalie. that's probably one of the least worrisome things the avs have going on right now
