Blues Retool idk

Créé par: philly_cheese_3
Équipe: 2024-25 Blues de St-Louis
Date de création initiale: 5 juin 2024
Publié: 5 juin 2024
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Skjei probably underpaid
Buch with no extension could probably go one for one for a 1st round pick to any contending team, doesn't have to be Toronto
Zegras trade probably requires a prospect too, Blues could throw in anyone who isn't Dvorsky or Snug

Hey man, you're pretty new here, so let me break this down for you.

Zegras is a top 6 Forward capable of playing center, put up back to back 60+ on his ELC (an incredibly rare feat no matter the team you play on) and is 23 years old. He may have had a derailed season due to injury, but he's still an elite level piece.

Faulk is at the tail end of his career, he doesn't fit our core long term, and the pick is only 16OA, at that point it's a crap shoot if you get a top 6 or bottom 6 player, or even an NHL player at all, not to mention this is a weak draft.

So while you did get RHD need right, this isn't a deal that works for Anaheim.

Like my good buddy @giggywithgibby said this deal doesn’t not work for Anaheim. Faulk is 32 and Zegras just turned 23. You’re correct in the sense we want a RHD, but not a 32 year old one on the downslope of his career.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you are the team that employs Jordan Binnington, right?

I mean he really locked tf in this year and put up a .913 SV% on a team that was ranked 30th for xGA 5v5

Love the Binner hate. The reason Zegras would be a headache is his lack of awareness to play defense and be a major liability (see the Kyrou situation, which is getting better). Players like him just don't mesh with the Blues way. Fans would run him and his presumed fragile ego out of town.

You see the hate I just gave Binnington? That’s the unnecessary hate that Zegras gets just as much. And you sure seem to be talking a ton about Zegras as if you’re his skating coach? And be genuinely honest when I ask you how many Ducks games have you actually watched Zegras play?

It's overall general consensus on both. I haven't seen many games but the few I have, I just don't like what I've seen in Zegras and his defensive abilities. Sure, it's a small sample size of what I've seen, but just seems most people agree too. He's got the tools. The talent, skills, just sounds a lot like Kyrou where he's more of the offensive player and lacks defensive detail. But, both players are similar that they are young enough to still learn the defensive side of the game and become more well rounded. Just not sure Blues would like to have two players in similar mindsets and trying to get both to learn.

Only other thing with Zegras is his fit in the lineup here. Dvorsky is our future 2C, Thomas 1C. Not sure where zegras would slot in. We have plenty of wing prospects (and current NHLers). Just not sure there's a fit, especially with a high asking price.
