Seattle needs more young talent
Anaheim isn't giving away Mason McTavish.
You seriously think a couple of 30+ year old bottom feeders and Loosing a 3rd is adequate compensation for McTavish? Do you understand how trades work?

I don't think Chychrum is a Bruins type guy. That entire team is built on identity and Jakob isn't it.

Trades have to work for both teams. Nothing about that trade works for Anaheim.

Who should the coach be
Should probably thank buffalo for taking Ruff off the board for you. Yeah, he wasn't given the roster he needed, but the Devil's were a one trick pony all season and if you stopped their trick, they were screwed.
The Ducks beat them repeatedly this season through coaching alone.

You've been wrong before, you're wrong now, and you'll continue to be wrong, Zegras is clearly better than anyone available at 5OA this year, and that's on a ceiling to ceiling comparison, saying nothing of the fact that Zegras is a known NHL top 6 entity and the draft pick is for a prospect that can bust.

Or, plot twist, we don't trade him, he becomes McTavish's LW since they're both buddies, and when McTavish isn't 2C for whatever reason (demotion, injury) then Zegras can slide to center to fill in.
"We've got too many centers" said no team, ever.

And it's more retention than Anaheim is interested in providing for a pick swap, and Gibson doesn't want to play in Toronto anyway, so much so to the point his agent put out a statement about how he wouldn't waive his NTC to go there.
You are correct however, the goalie market is a sellers market this year, and the UGA options are uninspiring.

Predictions vs Reality in the 2023-3024 Season
There were a lot of injuries to key contributors on the Ducks this season, we only got half a season of Leo, 3/4 a season of McTavish, 1/3 a season of Zegras (1/6 where he was actually healthy) and Mintyukov was down for a spell as well.
Here's to hoping next season, with the addition of Cutter, we move up to 4/5 in the Pacific. Calgary and Seattle should be catchable to jump up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>I don't exactly see where LaCombe fits in. Would love to have him. But unless he's a top pair defenseman already he doesn't really do anything that would change our course anytime soon. We're still locked in to Leddy and Krug for multiple years. Leddy has been relatively good since he's been here. Krug not so much. I guess maybe if we'd imagine that LaCombe is ready to play a top 4 role next to Justin Faulk.
The price isn't exorbitant by any means, I just am not exactly sure he is the caliber of player that we should be trading down for. I think it would be alot more beneficial for us to try and parlay our 2nds with the 1st to move up. But I also understand that possibly isn't an option either.</div></div>
He's projecting to be a fine top 4 player, probably 2nd pair long term, but he's had lots of games where he's been eating up minutes on his offhand playing with Fowler. I would imagine he plays just fine alongside Faulk, he's young and can handle the minutes.

Haha, no, that's not worth the retention, let alone downgrading Gibson into Husso.
Don't want or have room for Fabri, don't have room for Willander, definitely don't want Husso.
Trades have to work for both teams. Unloading 9 million in dead cap and then laundering another 3 million in exchange for a pick in the 50s and a middle of the road prospect, to say nothing of giving up the best player in the deal, is a complete non starter.

Reinvacher + MTLs 25 2nd
Slafkovsky
Select one from the above three offers and you might have a deal.
Anything else, and I mean any combination of assets not identified above isn't worth considering. One of 6OA, Reinbacher, or Slafkovsky is required, or there is no deal.

If Georgiev blows it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>I think the second rounder being late and making it basically a full round step down is probably too much. If it were the Anaheim 2nd rounder then I'd probably consider it, with it being much of a muchness this year after Celebrini and maybe a handful of others) from probably 15 through to about pick 40. They'd maybe still have a shot at drafting Sennecke (my personal choice - seems to be ranked anywhere from about 19th to not in the top 40 so obviously pretty divisive) to keep building on his chemistry with Ritchie (and yes he'd definitely be off limits in most scenarios including this one) or at least a higher chance guy who might come through in the future. Looking at Sundestrom having arb rights is also possibly an issue. Not sure he'll be as low as 1.5 when currently on 1.8 even though he's regressed somewhat statistically. Even after all that I'm still not sure Gibson is the answer.
On the subject of the Mitts deal I think he may get lower term, lower cap hit and bank on himself adapting to the Avs game and earning a better deal later. Might also allow them to keep Trenin and/or Drouin somehow.</div></div>
If it's the Anaheim 2nd then there is no reason for Anaheim to consider the trade as only moving up ~10 spots isn't even worth the retention on Gibson for three seasons.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>turtlemountain</b></div><div>Saying Gibson would have been better than Georgiev last night isn’t saying much.
I wouldn’t be paying premium assets to pay John Gibson $5M for the next 3 seasons.</div></div>
You don't exactly have any other assets outside of 1st round picks to use, and again, that's why a second is coming back your way. Goalie market is going to be unpalatable expensive this off-season, you best come to grips with paying a price you're not going to want to stomach, or somehow pray you guys don't have to send Georgiev to the glue factory next season.

If Georgiev blows it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>turtlemountain</b></div><div>Is John Gibson the answer? I’m not sold</div></div>
Georgiev clearly isn't. The UFA market is paper thin this season and even if there was a good option, you guys don't have the cap space to go hunting. This years headliners are Talbot, Nedeljkovic, and Samsonov.
Gibson, Markstrom, and maybe Ullmark are available on the market, but neither Boston or Calgary are likely interested in taking Georgiev the other way. Boston can't retain any salary and Calgary notoriously won't retain salary if there's term remaining.
And you guys aren't the only ones looking. New Jersey, Buffalo, Ottawa, Los Angeles, Toronto are all going to be trying to figure out their goaltending this off season.
Maybe you can convince someone to give you back one of your old goalies on the cheap in Grubauer or Kuemper since they've apparently lost their starting spots in their new homes.

McTavish has spent a chunk of time on the third line as a demotion for poor performances.
