The Bean trade might work. Otherwise, every single one of those trades is rejected, either by the Jackets (Utah, Tampa Bay) or by the other team (Buffalo, Florida).

Columbus should move on from Laine. Only thing I would agree with is if you want to wait to see if he can raise his value.

That can be severely less than what you perceive his value to be and, at the same time, be commensurate value to those outside of Buffalo.

That's fair if it's been reported he is not being traded, but all I was encouraging you to do was to take the homer goggles off... I can see that's going to be more of a challenge than the Sabres making the playoffs, though.

There's absolutely no reason for us to do so. He's been excellent here. He's not a locker room issue. We have plenty of cap space so his contract AAV isn't an issue. His contract term is short so it's not an issue. And when he's healthy and on the ice, he's been a near-PPG top-line scoring winger. At worst he's just someone we ignore on LTIR for two years; at best, he's "found money" of the kind we badly need.

Oy gevalt. Quit trade negging on our behalf; we don't need to be associated with that nonsense. Samuelsson is definitely worth more than that despite the injury issues; the guy's already a quality shutdown guy and he's only 24. There's no point in trying to force a deal that makes no sense for the other team.

I'm not trying to force anything or discuss on anyone's behalf besides my own. The only thing linking the discourse on player value to CBJ is the fact that it happens to be in this post, but you can pretty easily find out I don't claim CBJ fandom from my profile or picture. Values can be discussed absent of team affiliation.
