I can understand Vancouver fans overvaluing Pettersson that badly but the Boston trade would be a huge win for Vancouver and that should be blatantly obvious to even the most biased homer fanbois.

The trade doesn't make sense from a Boston perspective.

Boeser showed this year that his scoring production ceiling is higher than Zacha's, but I think his average production is much closer to what we've seen out of Zacha for the past few years. Zacha also just fits better in Boston since he can play center, which is a position of need. Zacha is signed for 3 more years at a much lower cap hit, so it seems like a no brainer to keep Zacha.

Carlo is pretty much a steady-eddy defensive defenseman, we know exactly what we will get from him. Hronek is an assist machine, but he is much more hot and cold as was seen this season. He's also unsigned and about to get paid, while Carlo is locked up for another 3 years on a very reasonable contract at 4.1m. This one really depends on what a team needs, but I think I like knowing what I'm going to get from Carlo every night and looking for offensive production elsewhere. Hronek's next contract carries a lot of risk if he doesn't live up to it, and I don't think we want to sign up for that.

The Ranger trade is pie in the sky stuff. As much as I like Pettersson the rangers aren't giving up that much to get him.

The bruins trade I completely disagree with the comments in this thread. I'd rather pay the 14ish million for Boeser and Hronek for 120+ points instead of paying 9 mil for 70+ points.

Wouldn’t even trade Lafreniere for Pettersson straight up. Guy has a terrible attitude and vanished in the post season. NYR has enough of those guys. No interest in that little rodent Garland either. You can have Zibanejad for free (he has a full NMC so moronic to even include him in the deal to begin with).

And I wouldn't trade EP40 for Laffy unless you threw in schneider and picks. As good as Laffy was he had under 60 points in the regular season and he's a winger. He's no where near the value of a 90-100 point 2 way center.
