That’s a nice W yup but it feels like Chychryn will be a hard move this offseason so taking on another one year UFA is probably the best route for OTT.

That’s why I pulled this team together - I disagree! As do many OTT fans. SJ’ rebuild for me is all about premium assets. This is the kind of deal that sets up cup contenders. All of that effort for Buium or Dickinson (and assuming they pan out to their ceilings) is the kind of championship move you have to make.

What if they take Yakemchuk or Jiricek and they hit their floors? You end up mushy middle.

Didn’t understand this move either other than 1 more year of team control but maybe he felt he owed NJD a small favor from prior deals to stay on good terms

Same. But getting Ferraro feels way more important than Parekh, Dickinson and Iginla. Unloading Korpisalo and still picking up a decent asset adds up to me. This isn’t about rushing to the playoffs. This is about establishing a team presence where Tkachuk, Sanderson and Stuzle can thrive. Strong veteran leaders that can talk to Tkachuk are the key.
