Let me just say that I am aware this is the most unrealistic trade of all time. However, let me also mention that I do NOT care one bit. Just having fun.

Or you could have fun but still understand that Marner is worth a great deal more than a 3rd liner and defenceman signed through to his later 30's.

Weegar is a great top pair d-man. Coleman is a good second liner, on a decent contract

No chance Calgary would do that. We don't want Marner. We don't want any of your rejects.

You don't ever trade an "in his prime" super star for two guys over 30. It's suicidal

I’m sure they’d be loads of GMs in the NHL who would accept this trade if they were Calgary

Marner hasn’t worked and won’t work here. He needs a change of scenery and the Leafs would get 2 great players in return

One very good defenceman and a decent depth forward both being on the wrong side of 30 with maybe 1-3 good years left before both decline.

I would probably take this deal for CGY. Weegar is great, and I think he's probably worth 2 x 1sts to the Flames. Coleman is probably worth a late 1st. IMO, Marner is worth at least a 1st + 2nd. Liljegren = 2nd, Robertson = 2nd. Minten = late 1st. Timmins = 4th, Jarnkrok = 5th.

On the surface it looks like CGY is getting a lot of good pieces. That said I also see Jarnkrok and Timmins as throw ins. Mostly because the Flames have a lot of bottom 6 forwards, and bottom pairing D. If Jarnkrok or Timmins get a job out of camp it would be at the expanse of a prospect, or a player would have to go through waivers.

The Weegar hole would be tough to fill, but if I could flip Marner for a decent return then this trade is a positive step for a rebuild. Coleman is another awesome player, but his age and career average of 0.5PPG make him expandable.
