semi realistic extra hopeful expectations for fitzys offseason

Description
taking a risk in jarry who i still see alot of potential in with a team like NJD feels like a bit of a project tho atp in his career and his injury problems in the past so may be quite a risky move

ehlers fits this team so well with his skating speed he is the perfect winger for jack hughes imo

pettersson is a very low risk guy who will just give steady D next to either dougie or nemo. price might be more expensive then i offered but hes only got one year left and is on a descent aav contract also not a very high profile guy more of an underrated pickup

the ufas i signed were the best i can think of to allow this team to roll out 4 lines like they were in 22-23 descent bottom 6 speed scoring and physicality is a recipe for success. most likely gonna go a similar but different route this offseason tho

in the result of injury they have guys like
hatakka casey vilen vrana stillman clarke and schmid who can definitely have some output at the nhl level atp in their respective development.

also keeping 10th overall i think would be a good idea alot of good players likely to be available at 10. hoping for iginla catton sennecke helenius or maybe we can trade down and go for a guy like brandsegg nygard

other ufas id target instead of the ones i signed

henrique 3c
trenin 4LW
kubalik 4LW
zadorov LD
chatfield 3RD

other trade targets (most of which would probably be more expensive and alot less likely to be available/affordable)
saros
markstrom
gustafsson
buchnevic
colton
koneckny
chychrun

Then they probably shouldn't move him. He has 1 year left and this is a very solid return given that fact

It's not enough for Pettersson. His price is 1st round + prospect or NHL top6 forward + prospect or 2nd round
Pettersson for Mercer + 2nd round is a deal

im sorry? for a career at best 2nd line LD whos up at the end of the year? what exactly is your selling point to get that much? unless he is able to sign an extension pre trade and PIT is retaining 50% nobody would ever give anything close to that. Petterson + reilly at 50% is what you would be giving for mercer.

PHI doesn;t need RWers or 3rd or 4th line centers.

They have plenty of both

No, he is an elite defensive defenseman who plays 1st pairing minutes. Yes, he is up at the end of the year, but this discourse doesn't matter because he is off the table totally, pitt is not trading him.

It's unlikely he's traded now as a rental. He'd most likely be traded to a team where he is willing to extend to up the price. If you want the rental price you'll need to wait until the TDL and see if he is still available.

Holy overpay for a rental winger.

If you're looking for an ehlers price, look at the Tyler Toffoli offseason trade

pittsburg would be smart to enter a rebuild the team unfortunately has no future, if they keep doing what they are doing now it will just slow down how long it takes to get back to being a good team
also petterrsson is a great player would be down to throw more into that trade but hes really just a top 4 DD and pending ufa the value isnt going to be as high as you think. hes a slightly better siegenthaler.

That's fairly unlikely. They'd probably just cut out the middle man and trade for a RHD directly.

hes almost 100% getting moved at the deadline when pit is 15 points out of a playoff spot. and hes not an elite Dman hes not even close theres a better LD on almost every team close to a playoff spot. Good luck getting a first let alone first and anything

Good thing PHI has at least 2 RW/C playing LW already then.

I should have said PHI doesn;t need any bottom 6 wingers and has a logjam of top 3 line wingers (tippett, koneckny, farabee, foerster, brink, atkinson, cates, laughton, michkov).

And a team that has Hathaway and Deslauriers need Bastian, why?

I get the thinking of dropping salaries on a team that has cap space, but they need/want neither of those, nor would pay for the opportunity
