You'd have to do it July 1 too, because he has arb rights which would make him OS exempt, so the Canes have no issues snap matching this OS

They cant. They have 27 mil in cap space , and they need choose which to resign from Guentzel, Jarvis, Necas, Skjei, Pesce. I assusme Pesce is gone as UFA, and Necas` RFA rights woud be traded. Then they could keep Terravainen, Martinook etc

The Flames trade is terrible for Calgary. They won't be retaining 2 million a year for 5 years. They won't be moving Kadri without getting a replacement top 6 center first either (not necessarily in the same trade).

Krebs and Rosen aren't top 6 centers. Rosen isn't even an NHL regular. Byram is a decent defenseman when healthy but he's extremely injury prone. Calgary doesn't have much interest in any of the three and 11th OA wouldn't get Andersson alone.

If clifton is worth more than $3.5M/yr... Sabres should keep him!
