I love when people trade liljegren and bring in fabbro because they are almost literally the same player. Trading them for each other is just hilarious.
Also saros and a late 1st 1 year away is a significant value gap from marner

i think you're massively overrating the value of your depth players. No one is going to give up a 2nd for the kind of roster filler pieces they can sign for free (at a smaller cap hit, in most cases) after Jul 1st.

Brandon Montour signs that with Florida not Toronto.

Max Domi is seeking 6 x $5,000,000 he's not signing that.

Matt Roy signs that in hometown Detroit not Toronto.

laugh Timmins, Jarnkrok and Robertson aren't returning no 2nd round picks, Try more like 3rd round picks at the very most. And Kampfs value isn't even close to a 2nd and 4th the dude has very little to no value period.

Florida doesn’t have enough money to sign all of there UFAs.

Robertson scored 60 goals in the OHL a few years ago. Jarnkrok is a solid 3rd line centre. Timmins was a high second round pick that’s signed to a good contract, also a right shot d man. David Kampf just played unreal for Czechs in the world hockey championship. He also is a solid penalty killer. They all can get you back a 2nd rounder no problem

Just about every NHL forward had impressive junior stats at some point or another. Robertson's the only player of that group who even has a chance of fetching a second in a trade, but that's only because of the potential he's displayed at the NHL level and not because of anything he did 6-7 years ago. FWIW I don't see him getting the 40th overall pick from Seattle.

Calling Järnkrok a center is a bit misleading, he's much more of a winger than a center. Kämpf is good on the PK for sure, but his offense leads a lot to be desired. He may have been good at the WHC, but it's such a small sample size and thus won't really have much of an impact on NHL GMs' evaluations of him. Both he and Järnkrok are known quantities at this point; decent bottom-six fowards but nothing more. The issue is there are many players like them available in free agency every year, and teams with needs in their bottom six can just sign a free agent or two instead of giving up draft capital to the Leafs for Järnkrok or Kämpf.

As for Timmins, draft pedigree stops mattering at a certain point, and a player's development and NHL production becomes the determining factor for their value. Timmins is well past that point now, he was drafted six years ago. For instance, Kole Lind was drafted right after him, but no one's giving the Kraken a second rounder for him just because he was a high second rounder way back when. Timmins at this point is a RHD who has shown offensive flashes but can't defend well and struggles to stay healthy. For most teams, he'd be a 7th defenseman, and teams generally don't give up second round picks for 7th defensemen.
